What about my idea for doing the terrain? I'm not a modder myself, but I got the idea from a Star Wars scenario/mod from Civ2. only issue is the land stuff because if you intend to keep the normal maps, things would look strange otherwise the land would have to be innumerable islands.

I know the modding ability in Civ2/Civ3 was alot easier than it is here, but its just an idea.

What I was going to do is have the closed S-foils version like the preview I showed. And then a version with open S-foils, that has the spacecraft rotated 90 degrees clockwise (and the cockpit rotated seperatly) like in the videogames.

I'm a little better with LotR trivia than Star Wars actually, but I love them both.

I'm from Kalamazoo. Southwest Michigan, about 75,000 people.

LoTR is awesome, I have read the books and watched the movies several times, but havn't seen the extended versions.

Patiently waiting for this mod to be completed. It looks great.

My brother was born there in 1988 when I was only 2 years old (I was born in Kentucky).

I'm from Gaylord in Northern-Lower Michigan about an hour south of the Mackinac Bridge on I-75, about 6,000 people. My family moved here eight years ago.

I go to Michigan Technological University in Houghton which is at the base of the Keweenaw Peninsula on the western end of the Upper Peninsula.

did u notice that some techs at the start of the game are still those found in later vanilla games... ie. plastics... and they still have the same science pionts required to find... ie. 400 turns!!!... please fix this...

We're scrapping the Tech tree and putting a better one, so that problem will be gone in the next version.

On another note I'm almost done with units all I need to do is The Jedi and Sith.

By the way, I need ideas for loading screens. So far I have only made some basic slides like "The Jedi", "The Sith", or the "Yoda slide" so I could experiment with different effects. The first slide says, "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....". I couldn't figure out what font they used in the movies for that, but mine looks close.

I was thinking about doing the evolution of the galaxy, but I don't want to just replicate the default loading screens. So I need advice on what you guys think would look good in our mod.

Any thoughts?

Mara Jade would make a good slide.

How many more do you need? Can't go wrong with a pic of Stormtroopers or maybe a space battle scene with Ties and X-wings. I love AT-ATs as well, but they might not be what you're looking for.

I have made a bunch (20+) layers of Clonetroopers taken from promotional posters they released for Episode III. I also have layers of Yoda, Vader, the Emperor and a few ships. If anyone knows what the Path Tool in GIMP or Photoshop is, that's what I use to make them.

Thanks for the ideas woodelf, I think I'll use them.

Here are layers of Yoda, a Clone Trooper just so you can see what I'm doing (the white area is transparent but it turns white when you export the .PSDs into JPGs).

Edit - another thing I should mention is that I am in college and next week is final exam week, so I will be extremely busy (and not get much done) until next Thursday when I get home for the summer
