Easy, yes. But it also completely negates any use for Interdictor units. If a unit could travel anywhere, than it would never be affected by an Interdicter's ZOC between the said unit and its destination.
I propose that hyperspace-capable units be able to move to one-half or one-third of the map in a turn. Even hyperspace isn't instant. There are several instances of week-long hyperspace jumps throughout the Expanded Universe. The Inderdictor units could have a ZOC of their surrounding squares. Since these units won't always be seen when a player "jumps," the Interdictor pulling them to realspace well short of their destination or next jump point (especially with an accompanying task force) a very rude surprise.
Needless to say, this means that like Civ4 now, the jump would have a specified start/end point and path.
