Thanks, I already have alot of bounty hunter city names, which are various places that are re-known for bounty hunters. As for the civ advances, ill post them up tommorow, because im really tired and have to sleep now :D

One thing I just thought of, since Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds runs off the AOE2:AOK engine, wouldn't all of its units be exportable like those of AOK. I don't have the game but I think it would be the best source for units since they are at the right angle and offer all the required animations. Did anyone buy this game? a great and fast way to get all but capital ships in one swift blow.

Sorry to say this, BUT AOE/AOK series has some lazy arties! All their units uses mirror image. :( Which means the unit have sword in right hand when faces west but hold sword in left hand when faces east. Which is not so bad for vehicles but sucks big time for land unit. :p

Scipio, you think that it would be possible to do this but, AoK is the only game you can extract the units from at this time. They are hard-coded and the Modpack studio only works for AoK, you cant even get the AoE units! Hopefully someone will come out with the mps for SW:GB soon.

nEo, I will look for, and try to get city pictures today and either post them, or mail them to you. :D

okay, i'm going to post this.
I don't know if its a unit or graphics mod, so i'm putting it here.

this is a basic proton bomb/torp replacement for the bombs. i'm afraid i can't post a pic or gif, as i can no longer access it. (animations shop timed out on me, and i can't reset the timer.)

i think it looks okay, but anyone who thinks they can do better - by all means do.

I am stupid. I appologise. here the file again. named correctly.

supidly named one removed after 4 downloads. file has not changed at all.

Photon bombs are from Star Trek :D I think you mean proton torpedoes which are basically the same thing. Looks pretty good, though the mod wont be using normal aircraft, so im not sure where that could be used. They could actually be useful with the tie-bomber which i may have as a regular aircraft :D

Yes i have them both :D Along with another 14 or so books for the RPG. As a matter of fact, my friends are coming over tonight to play :D

Urk, okay, that was a tupid mistake.i will now go and watch all of the star wars films as pennance. and there are Proton bombs. the TIE bombers use them in TESB.

but i'll remane the zip to try and erradicate my mistake.

my only defence is that i'm dyslexic.

as for them being finished, that hamy happen in a week or so, or it may never, i'll let you know.
and for thier use - they're there, if we don't us them, then its no loss.

Hi all, Ive been watching for some time and have spent quite alot of time researching the star wars universe to further verse myself in its history and specifics.

SO I have come upon an idea for the Tech Tree for the Mod. Instead of using techs as in a normal game of civ, why not use a storyline of events?

for example, One must reach the event (tech) of Kuat Drive Yards to be able to build Impstars and such. Or The Clone Wars before Storm Troopers can be built. Consider another Event titled Battle of Endor making The Death Star obselete (thinking back to reading about units called death star beams)

The 4 ages in civ could be Titled as Pre Empire, The Empires Rise, The Empire's Fall and Post Empire,, or something similiar

Ill leave that to those of you know know the saga better than I =)
but there is the concept.

just a idea, you might want to have an install file with the thing so that people like me who don't really know how to incorpurate new unit graphics can use the mod. i just thought about that yesterday, and an uninstall file for if they want to go back to the orginal. just a thought.

Yeah, i dont really know to much about making install and uninstall files, so that might not be to easy (but by the time this thing is done, i will learn). Also, i like having actual techs as opposed to events. This is a mod, and doesnt necessarily mean it will go along with the events of the actual movies and expanded universe. :D

Hi Guys, Im new to the group here, but over the next couple of days I'm going to try and figure out how to create some units and maybe help us out. i have some good experiance with photoshop and I am going to try to create some units or terrain or whatever. If you could post links to how to make units for the game tutorial I could get started right away.

I also think that I have some good ideas for general/leader names would be: Grand Admiral Thrawn(He is pretty well known), Admiral Daala. Here is a cool place to get some background information or names; try the star wars customizable card game. I think at the decipher website you can look at the text of all the cards..you might be able to find some nifty stuff.
Hope to help you out a lot more I am really in love with this idea:goodjob:

Louis if you like in earlier parts of this thread i've posted a resource of animated GIF's to base untis from. Good luck :)

I found out how to use the FLICster and am starting to make one of those red shrouded guard guys. Im running into a real big problem though, I found a somewhat decent picture of a guardsmen and thought I could shrink him in photoshop and plop him in, but it looks all granular. Should I just build my guys from scratch? I hope not, because I am terribly bad at that, but I will give it a try.... any good sources for pictures of these guardsmen or other imperials that you know of? Also, one last question, should the standard animation have the guardsmen moving? Should I make it look cartoony at all? Or go for superrealistic...this is a lot harder than I though but i will tredge on! :soldier: :whipped:
