am i the only one who thinks the empire are the good guys and sees the rebals as terrorist??
so what do other ppl think??
the empire broght stability to the universe, peace, unit, and stranght.. one people, one flag.

the rebals had to ruin a good thing, by terroriseing the goverment, runing smugling rings, and wageing a war.

:P

I support the Galactic Empire since they're just plain cooler then the rebels. It brings stability and order throughout the galaxy with the help of tyrannical use of power and fear. While the rebel scum try and establish an egalitarian state ruled by popular vote. Come on, we all know that soul crushing totalitarian empires are much more interesting than a boring old egalitarian republic.

I just like the Empire cause of it's stormtroopers and officers :D.

At least the new trilogy is aimed at the children. Both in content as in message.

So its clear that the "Rebels" are the good democrats, and the Sith are the evil guys, they are portrayed this way.

But funnily, I agree, while the Emperor is an evil nightmare, the Empire itself did not seem really so horrid at all.... :)

Well, we never get to see the lives of the everyday citizens in urban environments near Coruscant and other heavily industrialized worlds, at least not in the movies (I haven't read any of the books). It could have been some Orwellian nightmare, or it could have been just like life in the Republic, only minus the democratic representation. The Empire could have been very benevolent.

"The Republic doesn't exist out here" - Tatouine, Star Wars Eposide I.
Certainly the Empire brought more stability and respect of law. If you read teh "Imerial Sourcebook" (for that RPG) as I have you begin to realise that this was indeed a great and strong structure only shadowed by the fact that it was ruled by the Sith.

I can accept the Jedi of 4-6 Episode where they appeared to have fought evil and being guided by some principles. But I cannot accept Jedi of Episodes 1-3 where Obi Wan (my favourite chracter) leaves Jar Jar binks to die. He helped them get to city rising his life:
- what is to become of Jar Jar Binks here?
- he will be killed....
- Master, we are short in time
 Throughout the Episodes 1-3 Jedi act like special forces not "knights of light". Remember "agressive negotiations"? So I would choose the Empire if not for the atrocities commited such as Aldaraan and destruction of the prison world. If the Empire was ruled differenly it would be better than the "Republic of Light" as at least Empire provides stability and follows its principles.

However I would choose th "New Republic" out of 3 choices as their agenda actually means something...

The empire worked more efficiently, I wouldn't even call the Sith bad, just different. Also the Jedi seem to be really aloof.

jar jar is killed? i didnt know that :P

No but thats because Quai Gon (sp) interferred and took care of him. Obi Wan was trained so well in Jedi morals he was prepared to leave JarJar killed even though it took seconds to save him.....

Shucks, Qui Gon should have not interfeated with Jar Jar's life. He could have been killed in the droid army and we would not have to tolerate him :D.

but hes dead how chold he??? grr nm, topic plz!:D

What part of the "Dark Side" don't you guys understand? Is the the part where it's a part of the Force, or where it's dark, as in bad. :crazyeye:

The Empire was an evil, xenophobic society run by an evil madman. It made the Greater German Reich look like a bunch of huggable bunnies who ran around handing out candy and kissing babies.

The Empire was bad, get over it you guys.

It's about Bush.

From the bloated carcass of the Old Republic, an ambitious politician carved the Galactic Empire, a New Order of government meant to sweep away the injustices and inefficiencies of its predecessor.

Rather than offer the people of the galaxy newfound hope, the Empire instead became a tyrannical regime, presided over by a shadowy and detached despot steeped in the dark side of the Force. Personal liberties were crushed, and the governance of everyday affairs was pulled away from the senate, and instead given to unscrupulous regional governors.

Accompanying the growth of the Empire was an unprecedented military buildup. The many shipyards in the Emperor's domain churned out immense fleets of Star Destroyers and TIE fighters. The Imperial starfleet maintained order in the galaxy, a role previously undertaken by the Jedi Knights, an august order of protectors wiped out during the Emperor's ascent.

It was through fear that the Empire ruled. Its power hungry lieutenants and technocrats developed greater and greater instruments of destruction to cow a rebellious populace. This philosophy culminated in the creation of the Death Star, a mobile space station with a prime weapon of unspeakable power. When fully charged, the Death Star's superlaser had the ability to destroy a planet.

 I'm a Bush-supporting Republican. I wasn't bashing Bush, I was saying that Palpatine's rise ot power in Star Wars is more like Hitler's rise to power in Germany than anything having to do with Bush.
