Killamike just sent me a slew of sweet new graphics!

There are a few other structures done (Bunker, Missile Turret, etc.) but I couldn't put them in because I never actually got them done programming-wise :P

More are coming and got the ground textures but dont know how to get them usable in game, for now im busy, but will be back, sorry, im not on forums often, but after i get a hold of Physics class, ill become more frequent on forums. Please note, that all the structures seen in the screenshots, were the kind dontation of Killst4r!

Does Killst4r have a web site or something we could link? It seems to me that if we just say 'Killst4r' it really doesn't do him justice...
 
Okay, v0.35 is up. It's got a bunch of the buildings Killa sent me earlier. I've also put in a bunch of new abilities. You can check out the Changelog for more on that.

I'm wondering if we should start taking a look at our 2D graphic options. At the very least, for now, I think it would be good to see some graphics that can be used to represent these unit affects with minature buttons (much like how Civ4 has the small promotion buttons next to each unit's name in the info pane). I don't know if you Killa or anyone who might be lurking this thread has any 2D skills, but I've always been on the mindset of finding a "theme" and staying with it. It helps to have one person do either all or most of the 2D graphics, because their work will normally remain similar. So, we don't have one person doing the simple blue background, yellow colored low-eye-candy buttons like Civ4 while another goes the flashy, fantasy ala Rabbit, White's Guild Wars buttons. It's not that there's anything wrong with one or the other, but just that there should be one theme.

Once I get all (or, most of) the unit abilities in (which I am on track for an October 1 delivery of version 0.5) I'm going to start doing more to try to get beta testers. I guess I was looking more for people to come to us earlier since there really wasn't much in terms of action in the game, but soon with more strategy being added with the addition of all these special abilities (which I think is going to be the big kicker for Civcraft) I don't mind going out and searching more proactively.
 
Alright, v0.4 is up and running. Nothing much has changed in my todo, so this is more a celebratory post than anything :D

I threw together something that if you squint one eye and tip your head to the side a little looks like a main menu screen. Just thought that it might provoke a few more people's interest.

To followup on the post last time, I wonder what else we have in terms of 2D unit graphics? I know that you had a couple of the units, are there any others? If we had a complete set, then I would consider putting them into something like Sharick's counter as a temporary solution (and perhaps even leaving as an alternative for those who don't mind having 2D units as a replacemnt).

I've started using some gimp-magic for some of the abilities inbetween compiles (a few boxes, circles, arrows, add some blur, viola, it's a stimpack!). They're not gonna' be any good, but I guess anything's better than a big, purple square.

My worry is the unit buttons. These are way out of my abilities. For example, we already have Lurker, Medic, etc. Where did these buttons come from? And are their more? I'm assuming you got those from Killst4r as well?

I've been working steadily on getting everything ready for version 0.5, but have been sick and been on job interviews as well (funny story, I got up and drove an hour to this one place, get there and a couple of cops have barricaded the block surrounding the place. Apparently, there was a fire and they needed to evacuate everyone at the place I was going to interview for. And I thought I was making a bad impression by showing up five minutes late).

I'm still shooting for October 1st, but I'm not gonna' release it then until I'm pretty satisfied, I kinda see this as one of the bigger releases since most of the unit-based stuff will be in there (even if it's not pretty on an interface level, it actually will work and be playable).

Ohh wow, you are a hard working man, sorry about the interview. Maybe god felt you were not prepared that day, and wanted to have something happen to you before your next interview that will make you much better prepared.;)
 
Is this mod still progressing or has it died?

judging from the fact that the last post of lkillamike is almost exactly one year ago, i think it can be considered ... dead!
 
Umm guys where is the warcraft mod i can't find them please help me find them:( give me the link in this page and by the way in this mod is there a plague of undead in it??:confused:
