Right, because the grocery store guy got his attitudes from a vacuum. They just fell out of his butt one day.

Or maybe that cashier is just a jerk. Arguably the decline in civility in general is much more important and more worthy of our time than political nonsense.

It's not like the left has some sort of lock on civility either. Look around these boards and you'll see an apparent inability for people of all political viewpoints to engage in reasonable conversation about political issues in a civil and appropriate manner.

Maybe the decline in civility caused the political stuff? It doesn't have to be so onedirectional.

If that's the case, then it would seem reasonable to me to attack the issue from first cause, rather than its collateral consequences.
