Now, as all you avid Colbert Report fans know (I know you're out there
), Steven Colbert wrote a book called Alpha Squad 7: Lady Nocturne: A Tek Jansen adventure. What probably fewer of you know is that he actually wrote the book, and its not just a gimmick for the show.
I was shocked to discover this yesterday when I googled "Tek Jansen" and found http://www.tekjansen.com, a website that he created for the book.
The book is a science fiction parody inspired by the Douglass Adams novels, only with a Colbert-like flair. The only problem is that he cannot get a publisher, as he said on his show. Because of this, he has published about 10 full length chapters of his book on the site, which are pretty funny, even in their unedited form. So, do your patriotic duty as a God and Bear fearing American and check out the site.
Note: Colbert has not officially declared himself to be himself on the site, for legal reasons, and instead goes by "tyrone", his actual middle name. But the style and tone of whoever wrote it is so similar to Colbert's that he would have to be an incredible impersonator to pull it off.
