Some of what Americans believe about communism is true, but I agree much of it is not. In many countries in central and south America, the communist revolution was more about overthrowing a ruling elite that kept the 'peasants' in poverty. They were peasant uprisings rather than moves towards autocratic party rule, though we are led to believe it was some sort of Soviet conspiracy.

People have the right to own their possesions, not have them taken by the government and redistributed. The entire idea is flawed.

I don't believe that the idea of Communism is an evil way to kill off this, this, and that. It kills off people's identities, wealth may seem like the root of evil to you, but to me wealth is the root of good.

Scrap of bread? Most people in Southern California live in homes, we also have homeless shelters with food and such. This isnt the USSR.

I live in Califorina and there is great poverty especially in places like Oakland where the poor people live int he slums while the rich people up on the hill w/ their 20 million $$ houses glare down on them. Not even going to mention the mexican immigrants or homeless people.

Do you know your Civil War history very well? Yes, slavery was a part of the Civil War, but not the whole driving factor.
