Are you nuts? I lost 2 fulle conomic levels that were grown by a wonder built in Antigot... you took the wonder and it's eocnomy, for now.Toteone said:Still interested... that war didn't go quite like I had thought it would.
I really hate it when volounteer armies pop up. Hey, I have a better confidence and education then his people.
VOLOUNTEER ROLL! SEE THE HOLY TEMPLES OF ANTIGOT; WIN HONOR FOR YOURSELF AND HELVETICA!
Note: I am in no way demanding changes, nor am I threatening to quit. I only wish to note several points.
PS. I've noted Jason, that sometimes you only write casualties for one side. For instance, my war with Antigot; it seems that Helvetica took 6k casualties and Antigot none.
PPS. Where is my loot? 2 economic points? For the capital and capital-region of the most glorious empire in the west (next to mine of course)?
PPPS. Will I get volounteers/conscripts if I call/conscript for them too?
!!: In the rules-introduction you mention that the most effective way of increasing economy and getting ahead is by warfare. So far I only see measly +2 economic spending points being doled out for a good risky war. I could be banking the money I spend on replacing my soldiers and make a 1 eco. profit every turns as soon as my economy upgrades, 2 ecos of profit ever turn when I upgrade it again and so on.
If we had an abundant, independant source of money going to war might be the 'fun' thing to do (well I find it a ton of fun) and a way to get a little bit of extra cash as an reward. But with the reward system going here it is by no means worth it.
I just risked the chance of destroying Helvetica for some of my money back (what I had to invest in troops), not to mention I could've invested it into my economy w/ the same result (in terms of game-value to statistics) with a long-term payoff. I was sure that with the capture of the mighty Antigotic capital your Mod'ness would relent and give me an economic bonus level.
Last but not least; shouldn't all of this damage his economy?
I can only hope about the moneyToteone said:I DO think you should have tons and tons of money. It only makes sense. In fact I have an upcoming NES that would have given you tons and tons of money if you conquered an insane amount of land like you have in this NES.
PS. I may have your wonder under control but it dun give ME nothing.
...
!
So I lost two thousand swordsmen, two thousand something and two thousand Helvetican Helbardiers wearing 1 eco. total of expensive armor; in total six thousand iron age troops, six legions - well equipped from one of the veteran, most well-educated iron age nation in the world (among iron age) from fighting unorganized rural peasants, latrine-lackeys, wharf whenches, street urchins and beurocrats in Antigot prime? Those peaseants have better been illiterate Conan's by the dozens, and every cityslicking mudflinger would have been the 'Phantom'. I see your 10k insta-conscript army is still fully intact, thus I assume my theory is correct. ^=_^= *sigh*![]()
I quit... have a nice game.![]()
Havn't seen war? I'm fighting prety much since turn 3 none stopToteone said:Ummm... 'no organized resistance' Erez. Antigotican civilians are probably badass but they haven't seen war, only heard about it; except for the war veterans.
I just don't buy losing six legions of excellent troops against an urban area just because it's a cool empire.
I'll stay on and send orders then, if you want a PC controlled opponent....
PS. If I was to leave this one (I might be able to call in a few enemies, probably not though) it wouldn't be because I was losing. It would be because I should totally get tons of money for this and I don't see how a few hundred thousands unorganized citizens could have killed so many of my troops without it being a total massacre on their side and it getting considerable mentioning in the update.
Also, I should get some money; I'm quite sure I mentioned something about pillaging the most wealthy area in the western hemisphere... I was expecting an eco. level! I conquered the wealthiest area in the world, a bunch of sour pom-pom civilians and Jason stil doesl not stay true to his promise on the first page.
In pirate-speak: I demand my SWAG-BAG!
the only people that never saw war are youngsters or farmers that never knew wars were fought probablyToteone said:Lol ...good point
but we're talking about the taxpayers in Core Antigot Prime; are they retired war veterans as well?
probably
By the same principle all of our soldiers, and especially yours should be kick-ass for taking on so many nations and it should even out the difference I think. Jason is pretty much siding with you through all these updates. He's saying leaving a territory empty and letting an army sift through it and lose troops is the surest way to win a war by attrition... it sounds good on paper.
Wouldn't looting the temples make your people angree as them being my religion?Toteone said:Oh I don't mean he is siding with you in the war, he is siding with you in argument by example of all the updates in the argument about wheter civilians should cause all that much damage.
(I get this a lot, sometimes I isolate a topic or generalize and people think I'm doing it the other way around.)
Napoleons casualties were the result of organized Russian resistance and 'professional' attrition.
Hmmm, I would kind of like to kick Assyrian ass come to think of it.
Well if you still trust me I'll send most of my soldiers just to give them a hard time.
Don't blame you if you don't... lol ^_^
Do I get to loot the temples?
Withdraw is good... I still gonna get that loot backToteone said:Awww, I'll just withdraw, loot the temples and claim that I brought back the spirit of Mujahababab. *smiles uncertainly at his native population*
Well thanks for making me stay I guess.![]()
