Burgundy
Much had happened to John as the occupation in the Rhineland produced worse and worse results each time. He went from being a revered and loved leader, to being hated and ridicule. They now called him John the Blunder. As if to put oil on the flame, the son of the legendary Charles the Bold, Adam, was demanding John to either step up or step down. The populace was wildly in support of the former.
He was in perhaps the most pressure of any Monarch ever to rule the lands of Europe. He needed good results, a change in the current situation and he needed it fast. As his first move, the unpopular General Arthur was tried and executed for his dismal failures in the Germanian region. In his place, John appointed the brave Henry.
Henry took charge if the situation. Looking at the problem, he noticed that the barbs were ambushing and camouflaging their attacks. Too counter this, he would need ambush patrols of his own.
Also, he saw a fanatical base of power nearby. Doing what other Generals were either to ignorant or too prideful to do, he colored a region of gray that would be standard on any map of Germania. This way, he knew of the enemies total influence.
He also didnt want to be too harsh on the people themselves, for he knew the process would be a matter of time.
Henrys biggest gamble was to demand King John contact the Normans and Aragornians. Expecting a harsh negative response, Henry was pleasantly surprised to hear the tone of resignation in King Johns voice.
To: Normandy
From: King John of Burgundy
We believe we had an agreement that included you helping us disband these dangerous barbarians. We would suggest going for the military victory, and not expanding right away. As we are doing.
To: Aragorn
From: King John of Burgundy
We have met before I believe, but on much different terms. We see you are still struggling in backwards prehistoric times. We would invite you to copper if you lent some forces to help us in our situation.
To: Rhinelanders
From: General Henry of Burgundy
Is there any type of negotiation channel we could open with you?
