Update 20, 2000bc

--- International Events ---

A rise in rivalry among different peoples of North America has led to the development of a complicated area of nation-states, where new tribes have showed their dominance over the outlying area. The Cherokee arise north of the Seminole with a great power over the land. The Shawnee conquer the tribes in the Ohio valley and have claimed the supreme power of that region. The trading nation of Missouri is also present. In the north, barbarian activity reaches an all-time high with the whole area falling victim to the anarchy.

Rhineland engineers arrive in England to further help protect the English from the Scottish and Welsh. Huge fortifications are built around the capital of London. They are, however, in vein as the Scottish and Welsh withdraw from most of England and back into their native lands.

The Aragonite navy was sent to the north to destroy the Welsh navy, but the admiral called a halt to the attack to hear what his King though of the peace between England and Wales.

Seville has gone under huge renovation as Aragonite engineers and priests enter the city to bring it to life. Already huge renovations to the damaged temple are under way, as well as a marketplace to trade goods with the people. The city, being almost the size of Madrid in population, greatly needed this renovation and the people are very happy with the Aragonite government.

The Austrians expand their empire east, but not before encountering fierce barbarians known as the Huns. They are a nomad people, living off of those they conquer, and Austria lay in their path.

Siam invades Vietnam under the cover of darkness. Taking much of the land from surprise, they are able to secure the Silk Trade Route road, one of the most important transportation roads in South East Asia. Securing this road also hurts the economy of Vietnam. Already a major battle has taken place, where the Vietnamese are proclaimed the winner only because they lost less. Nearly 50 Siamese swordsmen lay dead, while 35 Vietnamese lost their lives.

In the mean time, Mekong attacks De Lat in hopes of gaining the population rich lands that De Lat exists from. They make land, but are falling behind in producing weapons.

Many Normans leave Normandy for the new life in Iceland that is advertised by shipping businesses throughout the country. In Iceland they are promised a new start with a plot of land that would provide them with enough nourishment to succeed for the rest of their lives. And this was true. Many moved to the desolate rock.

The people of Japan, who take rapidly to the new technology, learn Iron Age from the Siamese. They immediately start wielding the weapons as if they had for thousands of years, and soon new warriors who call themselves Samurai emerge.

The nation of Caspia is attacked by the growing power of Assyria. While the country may appear to be rather small and insignificant, it actually packs a huge punch in military power. They are able to hold the Assyrians off even after the surprise attack, and already many on both sides have died. With the newfound power in the Mediterranean, the Assyrian attack the Crete kingdom and fully annex it.

The Greeks, thankful for their complete naval blockade from land over the Danube Crimean navy and the successfulness of the new Greek Hoplite allows them to cross the Danube in the west where it opens a hole in the Crimean defenses.

The Chinese having finally control over their economy are able to launch a successful defensive war with the Koreans while continuing the advance in the south, though the army is beginning to be spread thin.

Geystral drifts into depression and with that comes the resignation of most of its fleets as they would rather resort to piracy then to fight the Singapore. Almost 10 ships were lost from the Geystralian fleet. And this is not it, many farmers at home have to find new jobs or die from the huge inflation. Meanwhile Singapore lands in Sumatra, taking much of the Geystral land easily.

Ceylon arises to power after the unification of most of the Sinhalese tribes upon the island. They boast of a huge navy, up to standards from their Indian friends in the north.

Faced with the fact that they may never again be a nation, the Ashanti undergo serious challenges – and come out victorious. With the discover of iron in the southern regions of the Ashanti, the technology and early swords reach the army, which then all the men go out and mine their own metal and forge the weapons immediately so to win their capital back. It was successful. Attacking so quick and fierce before the tribes could even burn the capital, the Ashanti recapture it. In the north, the armies have yet to gain knowledge of the iron, but they do fight hard since they know their capital was retaken.

All southeastern Asian civilizations learn Iron Working.

Rome lands and army and captured a northern African city, but is immediately under attack by the natives there and are very lightly supplied.

Trade thing shoudl be fixed by next turn, let me know in your orders if I screwed you up.

FYI: You get to choose where to put major cities that are on the map for now. Try to keep a limit of 3 cities for small civs and 5 for large ones though there is no strict rule. Later in the game I will take control of these and they will have affects on your nation, but right now there isn't any so feel free.

Sorry for late update.

Jason
