stJNESII: And We Start Again

Matty, how about a different name?

And emu, give me good reason why you can start in Manchuria and maybe you can.

Terrish, your capital is Memphis or what?

andis - southern part, as in sumeria, or middle part, as in the city of babylon?

Carthage

The great City of Carthage, founded right upon the tip of a wealthy penisula, is ruled under the eye of Baal, the protecter, and his chosen Mortal King. The city, once a phonecian colony, has evolved into it's own powerful trading Kingdom. Catharge main source of income is trading, using their galley's to travel along the medeterrian coasts.

While a materialistic people, Carthagians also pay great homage to the Gods of their Pathonan, which Baal reigns King over, just as the new dynasty, blessed by Baal, rules over the glorious Carthage. The Contempous Dynasty has risen to power, and Carthage's trading ships stand to domaninate the mederiterrain.

Orders

1) Small expansion, except for colonies at places with tradable goods. Try to control Silicy early, if at all possible, and otherwise, do not expand greatly from central Carthage.

2) Peaceful traders mostly, unless that trade stands to be infringed, then hardy warriors with Elephants.

3) Naval power, Trade, Military, Infrastruce, and Science, in that order.

4) Try to gain the trading rights of any nation Carthage has contact with, as well as allainces with Nations near Carthage, who could help protect Carthage if war ever comes upon the city.

So far, I have been two Jewish kingdoms, one I intend to make semi-Jewish, and Srivijaya. I think its time to go int he opposite direction:

The Mecca Caliphate
The Bedouin tribes of Arabia have long been ferocious warrior nomads with a thirst for war, only stopping their fighting fo rthe occasional trade in goods. Recently hough, some of the tribes have settled down in a strategically positioned city, with the goal of becoming permanent traders with the occasional war rather than permanent warriors with the occasionl trading. They have established the city of Mecca and constructed a caliphate around it (OOC: I know that technically Mohammed invented the caliphate, but I intend to make a governmental system similar to the pre-dynastic caliphate). Mecca is now a thriving trade center, but the Arab inhabitants still feel the pule to expand and conquer.
********
BT orders:
1.Expand and to try and fill up green zones in Arabia and to control Red Sea coast
2. Seek trade with any NPC's
3. Seek to bring nomadic bedouins into the caliphate.

Kingdom of Sarisca

Originating from the island of Sardinia, these people love their beautiful island home and would do anything to defend it. Their capital is the port city of Caralis (southern sardinia- look at the Rise of Rome conquest), and their economy is built around trade.

The Sariscans are closely related to the Romans, though they are a very cosmopolitan people because of their central trading position.

Religion is not as important to Sarisca as it is to other nations. They believe in the Greek and Roman pantheons, and pick up miscellaneous gods from their trading relations, but are not fanatical.

When's the first update? And do you want orders PMed?

*sigh* I dislike fighting in the first IT....

Mycenae is located in southern Greece (at Mycenae ;) ). The great king Pylonthos (probably ruled in 12th century BC) has managed to defeat the various Dorian and such invaders, though losing many periphereal holdings. It has gradually evolved into a pseudo-theocratic (i.e. growing importance of priests though not on Middle Eastern scale) kingship with a militarized, caste-based society that evolved in response to Dorian pressure. It is now increasingly expansionist, seeking to regain its ancient empire.

(Short, but then again you asked for short. If you want any more details, say so.)

Valencia

I don't care what color, just don't pick pink.

After uniting the local tribes, the Valencians began to trade with the coastal tribes of the western mediterranean to expand their influence, soon after, they brought most of the east coast of spain under their rule. But trade remains the primary goal of the Valencians.

Well Jason the reason i want to start in Manchuria is because i want to act all Superior to the Chinese and treat them like crap, then i shall attempt to teach them the ways of Civiliziation so they wont be all barbaric anymore, if that doesnt go so well (Civilizing Barbarians is hard I imagine) i'll just enslave them.

He meant "plausible explanation". Though IMHO if he allows a civilization in Natal region so early, Manchuria should be allowed as well.

Plausible Explanation? fine these tribe fellas decided to settledown and build a village, so they did, the village grew. then they made more villages until they made a civilization.

or rather a group of villages came together as a council and then 1 cheif won in an internal power struggle and came out the essential leader, though there is great dissent among the populos?

Hey, could I be a kind of Bluey colour? Like the blue colour Persians get in Civ3? Failing at that, make me burgundy.

Mataram (Short Description)

The people of Mataram are peaceful and kind who mostly grow crops, drink milk and eat fish. They live in Java. Religion is the most important element of their lives and they worship Bemi, a cow.

Longer Description of Mataram

General

The Empire of Mataram is a mostly agricultural and aquaculture civilization located throughout Java. They prospered on the rich farmland, most likely from previous volcanic eruptions, and the fish-filled seawater for eons.

Military

There military consists mostly of simple farmers with minimal military training. They are mostly armed with sharp pointy sticks and simple arrows, with the metal mostly being used for farming supplies.

Religion

There chief god is Bemi which is depicted as a giant hornless cow.

According to the religion Caltami, the Mother of Bemi, was around when the cosmos was empty. She wandered the emptiness for millions of years until she got bored. She decided to give birth to Bemi. Caltami then created earth from one of her horns. Bemi created the moon to live on from one of her smaller horns. Caltami watched over Bemi and she spent her time doing that.

Bemi however got bored quickly. She used her other horn to create the first people on Euro-Asia. She then saw that after a few years the people started killing each other. She thought this was horrible and sent down a few of her angles, children cows, to look after the people. The people started to kill the angles, and eating them.

Bemi decided to create a new type of happier, peaceful and kind people, and had the cows look after them. She saw the people being kind and she saw the people being kind to the cows instead of eating them. She was pleased when the people found that they could nurish themselves on the cows milk.

The people of Mataram use the cows only drink milk from them, they also believe in non-violence and helping those most in need.

After 251 years Bemi created 3 minor gods, who then created minor gods below them but not all of them are officially recognized by the church.

Minor Gods:

Ferri (Usually thought of as evil), the god of fire, war and illness, represented as a person

Calmer, the god of Fishing and Water, represented as a Whale

Tica, The god of building, agriculture, and weather, represented as a bird

Government
The Government of Mataram is very small. It is a 2 branch government, the Judicial and the Legislative Branch. The Judicial Branch settles disputes (Which rarely happen due to the main pillar of peace and kindness) while the Legislative branch mostly helps organize civil services, like health and food.
