stJNESX: From Bad to Good

To Gujart
From Persia

What do you propose?

To: Persia
From: Gujarat

Our initial proposal is for the offending region to be an autonomus province of Persia. This would mean that the local governor can sort out differences between the locals and grant equal rights and religions (of which Hinduism would be allowed to worship freely), that sort of thing. Also, customs would be much laxer on the frontier between the province and Gujarat, Gujarati Nationals would be allowed to travle freely between the two. In the meantime, we would not object to tighter customs between the Persia proper and autonomus region, and a reasonable tax on the border stations to make sure that the farmers don't immediately export all their grain to Gujarat.

You would retain the province as your land, the tax would go to you, and your people will not go hungry. We would acheive our goal, namely, to gain our people more freedoms. Both of us achieve our immediate goals. A good deal for all, no?

We await your response and are willing to discuss reasonable amendments to this proposal.

To Gujart
From Persia

We already allow the citizens to worship anyway they want. We also alow them to trade and travel in you country. The people gain no more rights then they already have.

To: Persia
From: Gujarat

Yes, yes, but we would prefer is those rights were set in stone by this treaty. Also we would like it to became a more autonomus region, with a governor who understands both viewpoints of the two different nationalities, so that the laws can be made according to the regional situation, which may differ wildly from your national situation.

To Gujarat
From Persia

We will conduct dosmestic policy in our own nation in our own way. There is no reason why we should listen to you.

To: Persia
From: Gujarat

Perhaps you did not read the proposal very well. We do not wish to dictate your policy. We suggest that you make the policy of the Indus Province separate from the rest of Persia. They have different needs and wants, and while the policy the Persia uses for the majority of its country might work well in most of Persia, in the largely Gujarati Indus Province, those kinds of policies might be wildly skewed.

To Guajart
From Persia

The Indus Provicne is Persian and we will not be dicated by a weak Indian nation on how to run our internal affairs.

Your Meddling has pushed us over the edge. Persia Declares War on you.

That was a bit predictable. Why couldn't you just declare the war in the beginning, Constantine?

Skandagupta, King of Gujarat, sat in his throne, pondering.

Four hundred long years the Gujarati People had waited for revenge. Four hundred long years since the Chandragupta dynasty had fallen and so had the Gujarati nation. Four hundred long years since the Persians had stolen their land.

And the Gujarati people still burned with revenge. They wished to visit the wrath of Kali upon these evil, land-stealing people. They had taken away the Gujarati Land, humiliated the Gujarati people, and slaughtered the Gujarati Army. They would pay.

He smiled, tapping his fingers absently on the arm of the chair. Yes, they would pay.

*******************

“Men of Gujarat! Men of India!” cried Skandagupta, mounted on horseback on the banks of the Indus river. “Today we begin the revenge that our people have longed for! Today we take our land back!

“Soldiers of Justice! Rich valleys, massive markets, bountiful farmland, all await you in the midst of the Indus Valley! Rightfully they our ours. By right and fate they are ours! The Persians have stolen them from us, four hundred long years ago. They stole our lands, and have drawn themselves into battle, and they will regret it. Soldiers of India! I will lead you! Will you be lacking in courage or valor, when the enemy longs to destroy us all?

“Their own official government has proclaimed that they will attempt to stamp us out as a nation, attempt to wreck our lives, our people, and our families! These desert nomads know nothing of civilization! They may have cities and citadels, sure enough, but they have corrupted the ideals of civilization into a cult whereby they believe they have a right to take away from others what they want!

“This selfish greed of theirs cannot, no, MUST NOT, come to prevail. We will not let their greed rule India. We will let justice rule us. Soldiers of India, fight to keep your families free from greed. Fight to keep your cities free from corruption. Fight to keep Gujarat free from this threat! Fight to keep Justice ruling over India! We cannot, no we must not let this evil come to pass! Follow me, and we shall finish this threat off once and for all!

“Justice for India!” he cried, setting his horse off at a trot for the nearest ford. Cheering, his men followed. They would march to glory, they would march to fame.

OOC: Thanks. Hope you didn't mind the numerous PMs... Took me a while to figure out that I still hadn't put in the promised map.

Ahem! I am here too my friend

The Foreign Affairs minister bursed into the throne room of the Emperor Suliemann IX. "The Persian Empire our glorouis allies to the East have declared war on the Gurjati.!"
'Ready the troops' the Emperor decalred. 'We shall ride out and meet the Grujati in the throes of battles and thus our colonial empire shall have begun!
'Of course my liege the troops shall be redied. Should we however abandon our attempts to found Madika then?"
"Of course our superior navy shall destroy the puny Gurajati force"
"We sail tommorrow!"

To Gurdjat
From the Akkadian Emperor

We hereby declare war on you in favour of our Persian allies

To Cannan
From the Akkadian Emperor

We ask for your assitance in the war against Gurjat. Many lands are to be found in India and I believe we can all profit from this endevour

To Persia
From Akkadia

We will sail and land in Gurjat land. This will help you win thie war against these little pipsqweaks!

OOC: Well this sucks. Might as well go out with dignity. :(

To: Akkadia
From: Gujarat

Why? We did not attack Persia, wo this must be another profiteering war.

To: Rest of India
From: Gujarat

Now we see them reveal their true colors:
Akkadia said:

They seek to destroy us and invade our lands, take our cities by forces, enslave our people. Nations of India, we face troubled times. The time has come; a great conflict is arising between the greedy and the just. You have seen them reveal their true colors.
Akkadia said:

There is no questioning what they are attempting. They are trying to steal our lands with force. Nations of India, we must not let this greed come to rule the Earth.

For the sake of the future, for the future of all our nations (note they do not discriminate between Gujarat and India, they wish to conquer us all), we must not falter, we must unite and face this threat. We suggest all of the nations of India send their combined fleets to stop the Akkadian Invasion. For India! For Freedom!

Additional Gujarati Orders **SECRET**: Have the fleet on high alert for any landing attempts by the enemy. Utilize any aid from the ships of the rest of India, and use any advantage from our knowledge of the local sandbars and reefs and such to wreck their fleet and send them back in shame.

I would like to know how you got hold of these messages. North King should not act upon diplomacy not addressed to him. Especially when he is not in the postion to intercept them.

OOC: They are not surrounded by secret tags, sorry, but did I miss them? They are apparently official court documents, all nations have plenty a willing merchant in other courts ready to tell of official messages. Besides, I'm screwed anyhow, you should be rejoicing.

To all Indian States: This war is against the Gurjat only. They have invaded our friends the Persians. We shall fight them until they quit and sign reperations seen fit to the Akkadian nation. We shall not hinder your soverignty and we actually offer you all a treaty of non-aggression and neutralty!

To: Rest of India
From: Gujarat

Apparently Akkadia thinks their promises are worth something. Obviously they are not. None in the Mid East hold promises sacred, if Persia attacks us due to some diplomacy questioning their domestic policy breaking a centuries old peace treaty. You will be next, they have no sense for what is sacred in the world, only greed. Persia may have declared war to keep what they have stolen, they may see it as a just war, though it certainly is not, Akkadia declared war out of sheer greed, their words show that clearly enough.

Their war with Justice is a war against India, they have phrased it themselves that way.

To: Takir
We can no longer carry on a war of attrition without crippling our economy. Peace at current borders?
