OOC: tommy_toon, yes, that's why, and yes, they were.
israelite, sorry, those roads, like darwin's, will be edited onto the map.
IC:
From Portugal
To Israel:
Any treaty we sign must include:
a) it encompasses all nations involved in the war - currently, that would be Portugal, Israel, and Eire
b) return of Sardinia and the Balearics to Portugal - both had been for years Portuguese holdings which were aggressively invaded after your false-friendship
c) reparation payment of at least 3 spending points from Israel to Portugal
None of the islands you invaded belong to you - they never have, and they never will.
The losses we incurred by your treachery also must be repaid.
And finally, we do not abandon people who are our friends in the greatest time of need. It was quite ironic that Eire, our enemy from just before, has sided with us, and, though we were bitter at first about the territorial concessions and reparations, we know now that those were very small prices to pay for the new friendship that has risen from the ashes of that war. Just as they came to our aid literally years after ending a war with us, we will now not exclude them from a treaty ending the current war.
From Austria
To Rome:
Not sufficient. We lost much more than two measly spending points. We demand at least 4 spending points compensation, even though that is far below the amount that we lost because of your barbarism. Be happy that we only want that much, because if we would add up all the losses you inflicted - immediate/short-term and the long-term - then you would have to be paying us for years to come to make up for it.
From Illinois
To New Illinois:
Some of us were actually willing to stay behind and try to weather the storm and eventually improve our homeland. You, on the other hand, ran as soon as things got tough. Hardly a quality that a leader who cares about all his people would possess.
Because of your cowardice, we were forced to forever give up the lands west of the Mississippi, and were forced to give up our gains in Michigan or else we'd be invaded ourselves. Had you stayed, we could've maintained our lands in the west and the east.
