stNNES2: StatesNES

Oh, BTW, forgot to say: Southern Democrats are widely accepted in Virginia, and are close to majorities in Maryland and NC.

To Governor of Kentucky:

I see you are exporting Timber and furs, my state got a good location for sending this out to the world... I wonder if you could export it to me, then we together make an trade center that we can sell it from and we part the income from it... I also suggest then that we make some coat industry in my state, and some lumber industry in yours, so that we get more valuable goods...

Orders:
- Start shipping timber to all the states that may need it through Boston.
- Vote for the National Free Commerce and Free Northwest Bills, but against International Commerce Bill.
- Invest 4 income into Fishing Fleet.
- Invest 2 income into army.
- Invest 3 income into transportation, to make better roads throughout the state and improve the docks somehow.

Govenor McInley states his oppostion

Govenor McInley has stated his oppostion towards all bills proposed throughout the north most importantly the Anti-Tarrif Bill and the Anti-Slavery Bill. Slavery he has reported to say 'is the most noble of instiutions as it shows God's pre-ordained status of Negro to Whitemen.'

On the Anti-Tarrif Bill, McInley has stated that his government will oppose and such bill but also not follow any legislation as it goes against states rights in the Union, support is widespread.

Military Build-Up continues

Although pressure from other states in the Union have been placed on the South Carolinan government, Govenor McInley has stated that South Carolina has a right to protect itself and will do so from all corners. Thus he has commissioned the first of many ships of the South Carolinan Navy.

Orders will be Pmed.

OOC: So, Income is how much you gain every update. Expenses is how much you loose. Balance is your wallet. Have I got this correct?

Here are my standings on these propositions to the States:
Reguarding Free Commerce:
I see this as an unneccesary application of free will. Report my standings as being against it.

Reguarding International Commerce:
My opinions are agaisnt this as well.

Reguarding Free Northwest Bill:
The very idea is proposterous! Slavery has been with mankind for as long as any could remember. The only who do not practice it are these savage Indians.

MSTK: Income is what you are making, Expenses what you are spending, Balance your profit (or lack thereof) Treasury is listed next to income, because that is essentially what you can spend.

OOC; with an income of 30(+5 trade), does that mean my income is essentaly 35?

Income is what you can consistantly spend over a period of time, treasury is saved up income that you can spend for a single turn, balance is how much you are making or losing a turn at your current rate of income and expenses.

North King said:
KarlMarxx, you need $10,000 up front to build your proposed military. Only 5,000 were built, the max that could be by what you allocated.
North King said:
If you want your army to be of regular level, then allot one thousand dollars for every two thousand men every turn.
That's odd. In the rules, it says 1 thousand dollars for every 2 thousand troops regular. Am I missing something here?

EDIT: Oh wait, that's just the ONGOING cost. Now i get it.

Connecticut Herald

Governor Pat Duder has sent a message of gratitude to President Adams for introducing his Free Northwest Bill to Congress. Duder stated, "Slavery is a worthless institution(OOC:Pre Eli Whitney) that only serves to degrade the value of Free White Protestant Labor. If we cannot have this compromise between the states, dividing North Free and South Slave, I fear no furthur compromises will ever arise and the threat of war will constantly loom." The Governor has also asked Congressmen to vote down the National Free Commerce Bill as it will hurt the industries of small states and only serve to increase the tyrannical rule of large. Speculation is ripe that Connecticut will abstain on the upcoming International Commerce Bill to avoid upsetting their British associates.

Orders
Spend 2 on military, one for maintainance and one to raise 1,000 more malitia.
Continue to spend 1 on building British embassy.
1 on Education, to meet State mandate by 1806 or earlier.
1 on Tranportation
3 continue subzidising industry, timber processing
2 for creation of ship construction yards. Hopefully contracts will include British as well as American buyers.
The State will also place a tarrif on New York finished timber products.

Conn. will vote:
Yes on Free Northwest Bill
No on National Free Commerce Bill
Abstain on International Commerce Bill

Same as armies, except levels are by 10. So to raise 20 regular ships upfront is $2,000, and yearly upkeep is $1,000
