Stockade Borders

Here is a preview of sand bag borders with towers in the hills. The colours available are very limited, so they will have to be grayish. I have not put much civ colour in at all yet, except for the towers.

There is only one file. It is divided into flat terrain (including water) and hills/mountains.

What I do is use different borders in different scenarios.

I have have been attempting to merge different borders, I could make some combination of stockade/barb wire/sand bag/towers/flags/hedgehogs and thinking of making a crossing gate.

Things like towers/flags/hedgehogs/border crossing gates must go in the hills because it is the only way to guarantee they don't end up in the water.

oh ok, cool. it was just a smth i was wondering how it worked. would be kool to have solid objects on land and the invisble line for sea and ocean tiles if the game permited.

I am posting a preview of some changes that I have made to my stockade borders.

There is additions to the base of the wall that blend into the terrain including the water.

Helps make the border look like it is built on some base underwater when on the water and has darker soil at the base for grassland and lighter soils at the base for desert and plains.

Sorry, I don't have a preview of the tundra yet, as my current game has no tundra yet. I'll post when I do.

To illustrate how well the borders blend in, if you look closely at the top right picture, you will see a skeleton laying on the ground at the base of the border that is part of my death in the desert mod.

well this is a major improvement if you ask me! :)

the border now seem to sit on something in the water rather than float :)

one weeny gripe.. the borders are a little too green in colour for me.. wouldnt brown be more suitable (bark colour?)

Edit July 16, 2005: New file, correction made to remove one stray civ colour pixel. You may not notice it, but it bugged me.

Old file removed after 35 downloads.

Here is the corrected file.

wow this looks really good!!!

I really like your stockade borders pounder but I was wondering if you could redo them in deep brown or possibly dark grey. The green walls just dont seem right... ;)

I'll Settle for the darkest color you can do.....anything darker than what is presently used would be appreciated.

I like the barbed wire stockade, Looks like the 38th parallel :)

They are empire borders not "town fences"
