To: Khono and Gala

We are very near each other. Our people do not like war, but are not afraid to carry it our. Sign an alliance to ensure peace in the immediate area?

After many years of civil war in the Tok Kingdom, caused by the Jemiknoan betrayal and invasion years before.
Tok was caught unawares by the invasion, as their army was on the Chatopan border waiting for an invasion that did not come from the Chatopans, instead the cowards paid our ancient allies, the Jemiknoans to invade from our flank.
Within the first few weeks of the war, the capital had been overrun, and the King murdered.

The Lord Generals and nobles pulled together long enough to repel the invasion, and again a second in invasion by Jemikno a few years later. As well as repel the various barbarian and piratical raids against the Tok.
However even though they pulled together to fight outside enemies in times of crisis, the nation fell into anarchy, the various Warlords, and Nobles fighting over power, over the Throne of Tok.

The nation was divided roughly into three factions, each faction was again divided between the various Lord, Nobles, and Generals who pledged loyalty to the faction, and the goals of that faction to place their leader onto the Throne of Tok. But there was even in-faction fighting, which the central leaders tried to surpress or minimize.
There was the Faction calling itself the Wei Dynasty of Tok, claiming that their leader, Lord Cao Bu, was the rightful heir to the throne, and held the mandate of heaven. The Wei was the largest of the factions, and controlled the largest portion of the Army.
Then there was the Faction called the Wu Empire, they did not claim that their leader, Sun Quan, was the rightful ruler of Tok, but did not believe Cao Bu was that heir. Sun Quan was a powerful man and many gathered behind him simply to prevent their destruction at the hands of the Wei or Shu. Sun Quan controlled the second largest part of Tok, and the largest portion of the Tok navy.
And the smallest and final Faction, calling itself the Shu Dynasty, led by Lord General Zhuge Liao, believed that Zhuge Liao was the rightful King of Tok, and backed him one hundred percent. The Shu boasted the least amount of in-faction fighting of the three Factions, and the most cohesive and trained army. They controlled the smallest part of the army, navy and land area of Tok. However they also controlled the most populated part of the Kingdom, and also the former Capital.

Early in the civil war the Wei Dynasty was not much of a threat to anyone, it was small and unimportant, usually at the mercy of other more powerful Warlords in different regions. For at the beginning only the Wu Faction was established, and the rest of the nation was in total chaos.
Gradually, Cao Bu, expanded his interests and seized more territory. This brought him into conflict with Zhuge Liao, as Cao Bu invaded the Lord Generals home territory, in an attempt to annex Zhuge Liaos lands. Zhuge Liao lost the battle against the Wei army, and was forced to flee southwards towards the Wu Empire.
As the Wei Empire grew in power in the Northern part of Tok, Zhuge Liao convinced Sun Quan into alliance, and Sun Quan assisted Zhuge Liao in establishing hegemony over a small part of the Kingdom to the west of Wu. This is when Zhuge Liaos forces became known as Shu.
The Wu-Shu alliance went to war with the Wei. Resulting in a stalemate.

The Galal Republic was slowely growing from the shores of Lake Gal. It had gone through many hard times, usually concerning the Khono to the north west. However, Representative Oli was proving to be the most influential leader in Galal history - which spawned nearly 7000 years.

Oli was a man of the Republic. He absolutly loved the Republic. You would not see this if you only knew his appeareance, though. He appeared tall and well-built, a man belonging to the military, and should be a sole supporter of military power. However, he wasn't.

In his early years he was educated by a man named Confusious, who was among the wisest man in history. This philosopher taught him the secret to world wide wealth, and the ways in which to achieve world superiority through currency whether then military strife. Confusious died when Oli was only twenty, but definetly set Oli on the right track for Representativship.

And here he was now, faced with two more major conficlts in the region. The Tok civil war was among the largest, eating up the huge trade deals Galal had with this country. He remembered when he was young the horrors of the long war between Tok and it's neighbors, some 14 years ago. And now the world, especially Galal, are still feeling the effects. But, as he was tought, Oli would not get involved in internal affairs, including civil wars. He would just wish it would end faster.

The Khono were at it again, invading another soveriegn nation. How Oli wanted to punish the Khono, but he knew he must'nt. Khono was too far away, and too powerful for his armies. It would just have to wait.

Finally, Galal decided to expand the Republic to the north to occupy the iron-rich area called the Salutland. Immedietly he sent his generals to organice the Republican Army to march forth and sieze these lands from the barbarians.

ORDERS

To: Galal

Do you accept our alliance offer?

To the Peoples outside of the Oixican Empire:
We, the peoples of the Oixican believe that peace and trade are the answer, not the barbarism that your peoples live in. You see, as our nation was forged, our forefathers believed in war and the ways of the tribe.

During this period, our lands we raided aconstant by the peoples of Ok, a barbarian tribe who we now control. During this time, peace was but a myth told by our ancient storytellers. Year after year our young men would die in battle, and for what? The honor of the tribe.

This practice carried on and on untill our population was meager and food was near impossible to find. That is, untill a General from our army had had enough. Taking our army, he took over village after village. Soon, our empire was under his control.

Under his control, plans were started to regrow our fertile farmlands. The Barbian tribes were either turned into villages by our economic aid, or its people "dissappeared." By the time of our Generals death, our empire was a growing by the day. When the generals son took over, he pronounced himself the Enlightened one, or the Tzar. Tzar Christo has built us a powerful navy and a strong, modern army. Under him our people shall flourish!

We call upon your people to join us in trade and economic prosperaity!

Wei Dynasty

Xu Chang, Capital of the Wei, Tok Kingdom

Cao Bu, High Lord over the Wei Clans, Rightful Emperor of Tok was a tall, aged man, in Earthen years he would be around 58, powerful despite his age, an intimidating figure. Cao Bu is not an evil man, related to the old Imperial family, he only wishes to restore Tok under his rule, for he felt the old rulers ignored his advice and left open the Tok flank to the enemy, and led the nation to ruination.
His dogged determination to unify the empire made him immensly popular amongst the Warlords.

Cao Bu spent most of his time with his family in the Xu Chang Palace, for he felt he was much too old to be "gallavanting" around the nation, and generally left the control of the army to his sons Cao Dian, Cao Cao, and Cao Ren.
Cao Dian was the oldest of his sons, an intelligent if not brilliant man, he was of average stature, and was not the most intimidating of men nor the most imaginative of generals, he was however a jovial man, friendly to everyone he meets unless they give him a reason not to like them. He was to become Toks ambassador to Galal once the Kingdom was reunified.
Cao Ren was the second of Cao Bu's sons, the tallest of the brothers, and physically strongest, he is a Warlord General through and through, trained by the one and only Sima Yi, Toks former military strategist, Sima Yi is now dead, killed in a Wei-Shu battle. Cao Ren, is not particularily intelligent, but what he lacks in knowledge he makes up for in cleverness so that Cao Bu had named him to be the Grand Commander of the Tok army once the Kingdom is reunified.
Cao Cao, the youngest of the sons, tall and strong, the most physically pleasing to look at, as well as extremely charismatic, making him the most popular of the Cao sons, he is also the most intelligent and clever of the sons. Cao Bu had decided that his youngest son would be his successor.

"Father me must end this cease fire" Cao Cao says to Cao Bu
"I know Cao Cao, but as long as the Wu and Shu are aligned we can not defeat them" Cao Bu replies, "And the Tenile have decided to through their support behind Zhuge Liao for the throne"
"Can we not seek outside allies to offset the balance in our favour?" Asks Cao Dian, "We need battle soon, Cao Ren is itching to fight, he has been getting agitated lately"
"I have not!" Cao Ren immediately denies, fall into his elder brothers trap, elliciting a laugh from Cao Dian. Cao Ren glares at him, then bursts into laughter himself.

"Let us send out a call to the people my Lord" Says Cao Cao, as he rolls his eyes at his brothers, "They will surely join us to face the Wu-Shu alliance, for we hold the mandate of heaven"
That prompts Cao Bu to reach down the front of his robe, at his neck, to pull free a pendant hanging from a chain.
The pendant swings as he holds it up for all to see, it is embedded with the finest jewels available in the Kingdom. It is the Imperial Seal, the sign of the Mandate of heaven, and the strength from which the Wei derived their power.

"The Imperial Seal" Cao Bu looks at it, "This is supposed to signify the Emperor, and i hold it therefore I should be Emperor"
"Yes you should father" Says Cao Dian, "Those upstarts the Wu and Shu deny you your throne in Hang Zhong"
Cao Bu takes the Imperial Seal off his neck and places it into Cao Caos hand.

"My heir" He smiles, "Take the seal and go to every town and village within Wei territory, call for all able men and women to join the army. Cao Dian, Cao Ren...Go with him"
The three sons nod together. And turn and leave the room.

Wu Empire

Port of Xia Koa, Capital of Wu, Tok Kingdom

The city port of Xia Koa, is a bustling metropolis in the West of Tok, on the coast of the Great Northern Ocean, Panthalassa.
It was the reason Wu held hegemony over the navy, for Xia Koa, before the civil war, was Toks major sea port.
Sun Quan had made the city his capital a few years previously, shortly after he allied with Zhuge Liao of the Shu.

Sun Quan was a young man, in earthen years he would be around 28, he was a tall handsome man, who was both intelligent and clever. He had brought many men under his banner for the purpose of mutual defense.
He had a younger sister, Sun Li, who was only 18, and was already showing promise as a formidable warrior.

"Brother?" Sun Li inquires of her brother as he paces the floors within the Xia Koa Palace, "What is the matter?"
"It is my alliance with the Shu" He frowns, "I do not believe Zhuge Liao to be the rightful Emperor, he is necessary to defend ourselves from the Wei"
"If Zhuge Liao isnt Emperor then who is?" She asks
"I do not know" Sun Quan shakes his head, "I fear that one day I may have to war with Zhuge Liao"
"What do you mean?" Sun Li tries to hide her horror at the thought
"Well the Wei will fall to the Wu-Shu alliance and then it will be us against the Shu" He frowns again, "Zhuge Liao is my friend and I do not like the thought of fighting him but naturally he will ask me to support his acension and I will not, making war a necessity"
"I understand" Sun Li frowns

Shu Dynasty

ChengDu, Capital of the Shu, Tok Kingdom

Zhuge Liao, and his cousin Liu Bei, rule over the Shu Dynasty.
Zhuge Liao assumed defacto rulership, and Liu Bei directing Shu's armies.

Zhuge Liao, a very young but shrewd Warlord, only 19 years old, is not the tallest, strongest nor best looking man around, in fact some would say he was short, weak, and nondescript.
Of course he is not weak, but he is niether tall nor homely, though he relies greatly on the strength and charisma of his cousin Liu Bei, is a powerful Warlord, and an accomplished scholar.
Liu Bei, Zhuge Liaos cousin, a man similar to Cao Cao in that he is handsome, clever and charismatic. He is one of the reasons that Shu survived so long against a Wei onslaught before the alliance with Wu. He was also the one who convinced Sun Quan to aid his cousin. He is currently his younger cousins heir.

"We have the support of the Tenile cousin" Liu Bei grins widely at Zhuge Liao, "If this goes on, we shall soon rule over the Tok Kingdom, you will be Emperor"
"We have to recruit more troops my cousin" Zhuge Liao states, "We have lost many men in our battles with Wei"
"Yes" Liu Bei nods, "I think with the support of outside forces we can afford to feed, and hire troops"
"Good..."

OOC: Azale, why support the Shu? If I may ask? Just out of curiousity.

In the Hall of the Republic, in Eusan, the capital

"All votes in favor say aye!"

A unanimous cry rises from the Assembly.

"It is settled. Representative Kim Jo is elected Presiding Assemblyman of the Republic."

The Chief Justice stepped aside as Jo stepped up. It wasn't a particularly an impressive title. Here he was now, leader of his nation. This was the reward for his years of hard work.
Yet his reward was not one without responsibilites. It was the opposite: the head of burgoeing republic, the burdens of this young man would be more than he could imagine.

Later that day, he stepped out of his small residence in the middle of the city, to take a stroll in the garden to relax before a long day ahead of him. Compared to the bustling city just outside the walls, this was a peaceful place, one where Jo spent much time reflecting.
He unfurled a map of the world, marked with the great nations that inhabited it. To the north, he saw the Panu...
