I mostly play Huayna, but I have noticed how aggresive the AI can be, so I have decided protect myself. The traits are very good IMO, I am a wonder builder and expansive.

The problem is when I attack one of my neighbours doesn't pass much time until other declares war on me with TONS of units.

I like this patch so far, I think it's more difficult and makes your decisions more critucal.

I'm playing in Prince dificulty.

And Huge Map with archipielago, sneaky continents, low level sea and Epic speed.

Playing lincoln (Standard/Random Land) and stuck on Prince as well. Sometimes that apocolyptic palace makes a gang attack occur. And too maybe the patch bettered diplo relations between AI. But this i know - i have never survived a gang attack and won the game.

Hmmm. Well, you have two early game strengths
1)Praet Rush
2)Settler Spam
You must be careful, because you're not organized. To get around it, you COULD try and transform Industrious into an economic trait and nail down the Great Lighthouse, Colossus, and/or ToA. That should help cash flow nicely.

If there's a lot of free space, the most logical thing seems to be to snag the GW. Both of your traits are synergistic with it, it goes well with Settler spam, and the resulting spy can be used to steal some techs. Praets have a huge window, so you can turn to utilizing them pretty much up until the AIs start getting machinery.

You need to provide more information before we can offer tips, preferably with some game saves.

My first thought would be that you attacked a member of a large religious block. Civs with the same religion will generally like one another, and thus are more likely to come to each other's defense. This is especially true if you are of a different religion.

You might also be attacking a tech leader, who can afford to give away techs to convince his friends to fight for him.

Anyway, provide some more details and we can provide more solid advice.

Don't forget a bout the UB that gives you +25% GPP.

You can easily pursue a Specialist Economy, you Ind trait can help you pursue wonders quickly if you have the right resource, if you have Marble, go after Pathenon and Great Library, if you have Stone go after the Pyramids. If you have neither go for a Metal Casting Slingshot with the Oracle and Whip cheap forges in your production cities for quick Prat Production.

^ Don't forget to ride off on their horses

Augustus is a builder. His traits can lead to a strong civ - but you've got to build it up. Industrious will let you grab bonuses that will let you mimic other traits - grab the Hanging Gardens as you'll need the health.

Imperialistic will let you settler spam but it will also, if you settle your GGs, make one heck of a military city with a few super-units to boot. 17 exp out of the gate can be done, especially if you tick the AI off before they get Machinery and do your fighting inside the GW.

Thanks guys, I feel they are researching sooo fast. Usually when I have a decent number of Praetorians, some of them already have macemen.

I can post a gamesave later.

I have the great lighthouse, the oracle, the pyramids and the great wall. I failed to build the colossus, the ToA and the hanging gardens... Ultimately I am building the AP but it seems I'm going to fail too.

My main concern is how can I be the first science empire, I don't wanto to be surpassed by the others...
