Blueberries. But then the european bilberry variety, of which we just call blueberries.

Blueberries. A good strawberry is better than a good blueberry, but an average blueberry is far and above an average strawberry.
This.
I have a psychological aversion of some kind to strawberries and blueberries taste too sour to me. Apparently some of them are supposed to be sweet, but I'm not taking that risk again.

I wouldn't choose either. I would choose raspberries. I have very fond memories picking them as a child. I also think they have the perfect taste - not to sweet, not too sour, just right. And the texture is more appealing to me as well.
Raspberries are almost always far more sour than blueberries, at least in my experience.

Never mind

You haven't truly lived until you've eaten enough blueberries to turn your poop green.

Oooh! I had both strawberries (rather average though nice, tbh) and blueberries (first time ever, iirc) today. The strawberries won hands down, easily. But no cream. Which was sad. I mean, creme fraiche would have been good. Or clotted cream even better. Or maybe Turkish yoghurt. But, hey, you can't have everything.

Blueberries. But it's close. And I'll put cherries slightly above blueberries.

What's the difference between american and european blueberries? I assume the American one is bigger...

Of course!

I suspect that if I listed every popular berry it would take away more from the blueberry vote than the strawberry.

Not fair bringing the vastly superior cherry into the discussion.

I also wonder why cherry juice isn't a thing. There's already blueberry juice drinks in the UK, but too dilute (but add some Ribena and win win).

Cherry juice is a thing. Generally though, the juice has such a strong flavor that it is more often added to mixed drinks than consumed on its own.

My refrigerator currently contains a bottle of tart cherry juice as well as a bottle of a white grape/cherry juice blend. My cabinet also contains a bottle of a dark cherry juice which contains some other fruit juices too.

My cabinet contains a package of spaghetti, some spices, a can of spam, some tea, a can of green beans and a few other nondescript items.

It can depend on the kind of cherry. Some varieties are quite strong and need to be diluted, either with water or other juices.

However, I remember back when we used to get canned Bing cherries - I would eat the cherries first, then drink the juice.

Right now the only stuff remotely to do with cherries in my pantry include some fruit cocktail that has a few bits of cherry in it, and some cans of Cherry Dr Pepper.

That (the soda) is pretty remote.
It isn't available very often, and at the time I'd placed my grocery order (I do it by phone and one of the managers delivers it either that day or the next), I'd just asked for Dr Pepper. I had no idea that Cherry Dr Pepper was in the store, and all the person who put my order together knew was that I didn't want the diet kind. So they put in the kind that I'd have asked for anyway, had I known it was there.

So it was a really nice surprise, and I save it for when I think I've deserved a treat. :)

And fresh blackberries astounded me compared to grocery stores.

This. They're just starting to get along in the season here(edit: actually, brain fart, black raspberries is what I'm thinking of). Which is always sad making when it runs out. I can have as many as I want to trade for mosquito bites. Hrm. Might swing out and sweep up some more tonight. That's a good idea!

Strangely my fussy child likes strawberries very much even though neither me nor her mother likes them at all.

Kids is fun like that. Actually planted a tomato this year. The wife and I both detest the things.

You can trade most of those mosquito bites for sweat with a thick-enough rain suit. It's awesome for cutting down on thorn injury too. I keep tearing the pants, so I've fallen back on an old pair of jeans, which seems to work well.

Anyone here had purple raspberries, the red & black hybrid?
