stSbNESIII - 1815 Turning the Clock Back

gone until Sunday which is when I will update

Colonel Gustaf Karlsson of the Swedish Royal Army stood next to the Oldenburger officer as cannons flashed and more men were blown apart. The Oldenburger trap had been sprung well, with an unplundered field waiting for the Hanoverians to loot, and 100 men and cannons waiting in the forest for the perfect moment. Now, the Oldenburgers charged, and started firing. The redcoats re-formed into some ranks, and their muskets flashed, covering fire to escape.

When the war had flared up, King Charles XIV John had seen an opportunity to learn the lessons of post-Napoleonic warfare. He sent two Swedish colonels as observers to Niedersachsen, one on each side. After some diplomatic confusion on the Hanoverian side, everything worked out, and many lessons of guerilla warfare were being taught to the two Swedes, who sent letters to Stockholm every week.

The brilliantly conceived Hanoverian plan had fallen apart with the bitingly cold summer, as troops went unfed for days and started to loot and disorganize. The Oldenburgers saw their chance, and initiated guerilla warfare to keep the redcoats from their city. Every other day there was an ambush that claimed lives. The Swedes cursed their noncombatant status and wished to fight, although their King wouldn't let them.

When the ambush was sprung, the twin cannons had torn a hole in one unlucky redcoat, alerting his brothers. Soon, the Hanoverians dove for the ditches and returned fire. There had been sniping for hours before the Oldenburgers mustered a charge that drove their enemy from the field. Casualties on each side were about ten men. The one thing that Gustaf was learning from guerilla warfare was that it was slow. His opposite number in the Hanoverian lines thought it was barbaric. And so, the conflict continued, stretching into its second year.

To World
From Hanover

Dispite what Swedish Military officres have said, Oldenburg and Hanover has made peace 1 month(1 day) after the ending of the year and peace once more reigns on the Continent. The Hanoverian Duke urges the Swedish King not to allow his military officers to fight imagineray enemies as it's not very healthy for troops to do that.

(sniggers) I didn't offer a date for that story, did I? You never replied to the PM anyway, so I got bored and posted.

OOC: keep OOC and IC a difference, i didn't answer ur PM since i didn't think lives should've been lost for your amusement and knowledge. And i'm also sure that Oldenburg wouldn't let your officers see their army in action just so you could "learn" from the deaths of their soldiers during the time of peace. They never saw the attack coming from Hanover, so why would they let you see their army?

OOC: I ask to be allowed to do something, you don't say anything. I do it, and you get angry. Huh? Fine, just tell me you want no story when/if I write another one. (mutters under breath)

OOC: heh, i apologize. i just got kinda pissed about how sadistic the Swedish King is watching other ppl die and learning from it. I just remember writing a story in North King's Ruins of Empires that made some ppl give him LOT of complaints

Back! Starting the update, I'll see how far I can get today

i kinda forgot, can I still send quick orders?

sure, sure

I'm quitting. I'll probably come back later, I'm very depressed at the moment, the drugs should fix me up, and then I'll be back.

Ive been going back and forth on trying to make a quick, rushed update today or finishing everything and making a good one tomorrow. The latter won after I realized I still have math homework to do. I will finish and post tomorrow after school.

Did I send orders?

back from school, update in an hour or so

ok, this is HORRIBLE people.
I have orders from UK, Hanover, Russia, Switzerland, Sardina, Sweden, Naples and thats it. Where are my Prussia, France, Spain, Papal States, Ottoman Empire? You all have another day to get orders in, or for that matter if anyone else wants to take any of those countries and give me orders it will be apreciated.

Prussian player quit, French player quit, Ottoman player quit. Grim times, but all the more fun since you can go on a sociopathic NPC rage.

you sure? well, in that case update will most likley be finished today

I'm Prussia, I'm decently sure I quit.

I recall Cap quitting a while ago to focus on other things, he was Ottos.
