Western Roman Empire
Today, is a day that will be celebrated in Roman history books for all time! for today is the day a true heir to Agustus and trajan has assumed the title of empror, because for the first tie in centuries, Roman lands, have expanded, and moreover, into the lands that escaped the first emperor Agustus!
In the eyes of the people- and moreover the army- Emperor Julian has proven his worth, and earned the great loyalty of generals- the defeat of a barbarian tribe- and full annexation of it have given renewed hope ot the people of the western empire.
Effects- +1 bonus can be lost if the frank holdings are lost, and the bonus is still unused. +1 econmy Plunder.
However, not all is well in the Westenr empire- soon after the great victory- or rather the surrender of the remaining Franksih troops and lords, after seeing that the leaderhsip they needed was not going to come, they surrenderd peacefully, particuraley after seeing the good command, and bravery Julian bestowed upon his troops- and indeed, became some of his stauchest supporters in the North, so much that that the Emperor, not fearing an uprisin gof the local populace due to this, took the risky venture of moving the majortiy of his troops to his Danbue border, where they proceeded to make it known just what the wesytern empire was goign to do to any barabrian trespassors...
But times were changinf- and a new presence has arrived on the lands Europe -The Huns-
Already seizing a firm grip on the rolling Steppe of upper Sarmatia, with in 5 years of thier arrival they had begun to put pressure on the germanic tribes- particuraley the Vandals- so much, that he vandals- already mad at the romns, particuraley the Western Romans for annexing thier brothers, decide to invade! however, the vandals were keenlly aware of the bolsterd roan garrisons in the region, and employed a cleaver trick worthy of even a roman commander- the skirted around the main fortress in thier area of incurison, and cut it off! the result in that a surprisnglly larg eportion of Roman erritory is under seige from the Vandals, and cut off from re-inforcement, the vandal UU, adept at pillaging cities and towns ships, is readyign for a final attack on the city- though not just the western romans will feel the wrath fo the vandals- the eastern roman empire too- using the same going around manuver, the Vadlas completelyl skirt the great Roman wall of the eastern empire, and grab a foothol- in vengence fo r thier other brothers, the gothic peoples who the easternempire has recentlly declared war on, and invaded...
Franks
Annexed by Western Roman Empire. nation is now offically eliminated from game, aside from stroy roles.
Britannia
he British, in their homelands march uo to the ancient border with the Pictsof caledonia, the great wall of Hadrian, and sit, waiting for an invasion that never comes- in fact, while they sit upon the wall, they see a large group of picts sit down a long ways, but in veiwng distance of the wall, both sides sitting, occasioanlly talking swaping tales- neither side wants ot take the offensive agiasntthe others, as even though traditional enimies, they do veiw eachothers as cousins, particuraley with the rise of the germanic tribes in europe and what not. This uneasy peace is broken, and due to cultrual and religions reasons, dosent seem to be lieklly to bebroke anytime soon- even the thourolluy roman Knights seem to enjoy the comrodery with the wiley nieghgors to the north over the, in thie ropinion, truelly barbaric Scandanaves the King has been dealing with as of late, and while loyal, they make it known they would much rather fight in the name of the defence of thier homland then be the first strikers on a war of conquest...
in the east however, things are much more action packed, witht he Vellexiation of 1200 infantry in the east showing great skilland tac ton the battl efield durin gthe E. roman invasion of the Gothic homeland, and thier commanders, showing good tact, recive relitivelly light casulties, only 500 troops....

Teutons
The tuetons are busy! with thier ranting raving, ferventlly cursing leader (who seems particuraley fondof the term dammit, the tuetns have, if for nothing else, made thier name in region for having perhaps the most unique and wiley of Kings...
However the king isnt stupid (well, not usually) and he begins his efforts for the decade by goign after the remaing Pruss- his waariors assembeld, readt make a complete blood bath of all that stand int he way, ready to gut, gore, and other wise mame every living creature that dosent submit to teutoinc DOMINION! However, they are soon met by a flood of refugees, offering gifts of cookies.
the reason being- like so many other strange eventsin these time,s is the dark shadow of the huns coming over the west. they have invaded pruss holgins to the east, and, caught between a rock and a hard place, vote that they would rather be with the teutons, a people very much similer to them selves- and so, the reamiang Prussian lands offer full allegence to the Tuetons, hoping tthat it will bring them secrutiy formt he savage Huns...
Effects-+500 warband
The Huns have also had another impact upon the germans- they, combined with the Roman advances across the great rivers, have conviced the vandals and Lombards that theremight be somthing to the tuetons call for a grand allaince, and the offers are simple- the vandals will join if the tueons make war on the Huns and Roman immediatelly, the lombards will join if the Tuetons will agree agree to help them fight the Romans, should the need for it arise...
Eastern Europe
All hell in eastern europe continues, and abad situation just got worse for everyone.
The Decade starts, reasonable enough, with a general all quite on the western front for every front og the Gothic kingdom, incresinglly centrilized under one king, the Visigothic King- so much, that after consulting seers, the Gothic king soon decides to build a capital city!
Wetaher or not his choice of Location was a cas eof Pure dumb luck, coincidence, or perhaps the single biggest mistake of the Goths hasyet to be seen...
for after this new city, dubbed Gernicen was foritied and freshlly maned with assorted warbands, and a 1000 strong new complement of Archers, the Romans attacked. Or more properlly, the E.ROman empire, with a large contengient of Troops from Britain, invade aong the Danube border, from thier mighty fortifacations, and sending nearlly all of thier troops across the danube (which have MAJOR impacts for E. empire in the south, as they learn the hardway about taking all fo thier troops from across an empire with as many borders as E. Rome dose...
Th eOffensive war large and tough- even wth only 1000 arhcers, and severla hundred war band, the heavy forest sin the region put the Infantry and cavalry of the E. romans at an effective looss, and while the pure numerical superiortiy of the E. romans could not be with stood, the capital and surrounding area of the Gothic homlands withstodd assult, but only at hevy loss... and while the Roman penetrated on only a rather small front, they dug hard, and they dug deep- but agian, only at considerable loss...
Losses- E.Rome- 1000 Infatry, 500 Cavalry, 200 UU, R.K. of Britian- 500 Infanty, Goths- 700 Archers, 600 Warband
Though thats not nearlyl the end of it for the eastern Roman empire- a new confront taion with the arab nation with hedjaz has erupted after te govenor of palestine accepted th eplease of the rebellign lands of Northen hedjaz as new citizens of the empire- leading to a small skirmish... more under the hedjaz section
though the most startilign event for the eastern empire is, onvisouslly, the massive incursion of Nile Nomads in the south, taking swift notic eof the eastern empires lack of border guards, so many being called to fight ont he Danube frnt, they have taken a large chunck out fo Egypt already, and are poised to soon grab even more....
In the North however, is where the real action for the Goths is slated to take place- the battle feild is set- the Goths, making good use of the roman deserters, and begun to employ very Roman tactis in thier ranks, and the Alans are prepared, having fashiond litterally thousands of arrows for this single battle, the cavalry sqadrons drill, and run, readyign for the Parthian style tactics they will employ in this, what is to be slated the mother of all battles of the Steppe- the forces advance upon each other, slowwly, carefully, methodically, probeong eachother for weaknesses, any sign that victory migth be had ar osmthign less then a cmplete blood bath for both forces...
and as the great battle hors for he forces ae preparred to be blown, signallig to beging the battle, clouds of dus converge onthe horizon, the t=sounbd of a thousand thundering hooves from the north, each side thinking the other is now freshlyl reinforced, they wait, preparred, if the force is so large as to assure destruction, to offer peace terms- however, the result is startiling- the troops- a nearlly 6000 strong force of a people never before seen- similer perhaps to the Alansa, but of a grade more barbaric and strange then either has ever set eyes upon before, 6000 warriors, all armed with bow and spear, few with any more then light leather amrour, but all lookign ready to kill and mame on the slightest provocation...
th tleader fo these ferocious people comes forward, on a grey mare, and tells both the highlly surprised Goths and alans the fact of the matter-
We are the Huns. we have tthe land to your north now. we will one day have this land too. The steppe, this steppe. It is our home. It is ours. we have travelle dfar to find this land. We found it. We take it. It is ours.
and with that, the leader fo the so called Huns led his troops off, leaving a baffeld, and startled confrontation between bitter enimies amassed upn eacher starteld and think, milling about, asking thier comarades, and eneimes alike what, and who they are.
The commander sof the armies both feel that the circumstances have now changed a great deal, and instead of fighting eachother, it would be, perhaps better to lie, and say they coudl not find the other on the vast steppe to give a confronttaion,a nd tell them abotu the meeting with the huns..., and with that, the amries move off, confised, and worried, no long about eachother, but what the coming of these new people to the steppe wil mean....
