Subdued Animals in C2C discussions

In general, the ones in the modules are the correct ones and the ones in the core TEXT folder are the wrong ones. IIRC the modules text is loaded after the core text files.

HUH?? I just made a NEW event and it was looking for Promotion Hunting Sight, which is in your module, and it came back, wrong info class??? But when i changed it to a core Promotion Hunting Sight2 it worked?????:crazyeye:

You are probably loading it in the wrong order. If you want to use the stuff in my mod in your mod then you have to make your mod after my mod in the Assets/Modules MLF file.

I looked at that and i am alot lower than your name??

The text is but the promotion is not. Neither are. They came from the Stone Age mod.

I put the new event in my module, so mine comes after yours, correct? So should the promotion its asking for correct? Its ok, i'd rather have HS2 anyways added for an extra promotion for the event i am doing (Best/Great Hunter)

I think we have already merged the Great Hunter promotion into the normal promotion line. So any hunter can eventually get it.

I am thinking we may need two new promotion lines one for hunter and another for recon.
  • zoologist (hunter) - increases capture rate.
  • botanist (recon) - new mission to return specimen of a new plant to your capital....

Definitely on the promo lines, i looked all over for the G Hunter and could NOT find it, so i re-made it in the event i am doing:hmm::twitch:

Very cool concepts there DH! I've often thought to suggest the first of those two. (Animal Trainer line is what I'd have called it but yeah... same concept really.)

By return a specimen of a new plant do you mean make a new plantable bonus by your city? Because that sounds a bit OP to me.

Yes, it would be similar to the spy mission. The actual mechanism needs work.

That sounds a bit too powerful IMO. We already have enough issues with the Great Farmer making things unbalanced, to make something that requires the investment in a great farmer instead only require a mission sounds like a bad idea to me.

I dont see this as unbalanced, it takes forever to build ONE resource and then try and build another GF takes time again, then build the resource AGAIN, by then you could have done a request for resource from your neighbor civ and gotten ten different items by then:rolleyes:
 
:joke:A yes hunters subduing animals and bring them home to make resources (as herd buildings) is OP. I'll remove it immediately.

I'm REALLY glad to see you're joking here. But I get your point. Makes sense.
 
OK, since I am stuck on bug fixing in Captive and new screens, and I don't want to do improvements right now back to animal combat classes.

What I want are class sets for :food: from kill/butcher, :hammers: from kill/butcher, :science: from study and :culture:+:money: from entertainment value. The lats two depend on technology level, native/foreign origin of animal and the cultural significance of the animal in fights. Bear batting and Stallion fights may be OK when there are no pubs with karaoke but not after the animal rights people come to town.

We already have promotions for animals (need updating for all the new combat classes and not all animals have been classified)
  • Completely Harmless -99% attack chance
  • Mostly Harmless -75% attack
  • Harmless -50% attack
  • Nonthreatening -25%

the following are OK for :food: but I need :hammers: also
Fine = Fly
Diminutive = Toad
Tiny = Cat
Small = Human (Child)
Medium = Human (Adult)
Large = Horse
Huge = Elephant
Gargantuan = Whale
Colossal = Dinosaur​

I am also thinking of changing returns by Tech so a kill anywhere but in a city would have a maximum :food: and :hammers: of
1 of each
2 of each if have basketry
+1 :food: at chopping
+1:hammers: at piercing
full amount at tribalism​
I note that one tech already has +1:food: from hunting on it but I have not seen it affect anything

For :science: and entertainment I may go with the size classification for now but scale the returns by game speed etc.
 
I know the platypus is an anomoly in the world of animals and I can stretch my imagination enough to understand why it would be able to build the Tales of the Fish building, but being able to build the bird cage once the carnival is built, that one I can't understand.

The platypus has chromosone similarities to birds, but I would be surprised to go to the bird cage at a carnival or zoo and see a platypus. Any chance such a unique animal could have it's own building? And if you were to add the Echidna to the animal list, this could be grouped with it.
