Succesion Game (PG1): The mighty Germans (with edited rules)

One of the lesser-known Presidents was President Smiley. He was a descendant of the long line of monarchs dating back to the founding of Smiley Falls. The family had a long history of shrewd negotiators, but none so shrewd as President Smiley during his reign (1800-1820). During this period of time, he managed to raise the national surplus from around 25 or so to a whopping 384! The nation's economy was booming like it never had before. Sadly, before he could invest the money into a powerful army or an enduring infrastructure, President Smiley died quietly in his sleep. He is survived by a nephew.

During my turn, the war between England and Babylon ended. I think we should take the time now to crush England, as they only have four cities, all easily within our reach. Remember, if we flatten England, we can use them as a stepping-stone to a higher score.

(I accidentally ended my last turn, so I had to save it at the next player's first turn. Sorry.)

It's Rymiss' turn.

Tomorrow I'll have the day off, so I'll update the History log, and I'll start to plan the next succession game I'll moderate.

Good luck Ry.

alright i got the game and im gonna play it tonight.

Waiting Rymiss' response. (It's been 56h)

If he doesn't move in a couple of hours, you shoud go ahead and take the game Gumby (I hope you've solved all your connection problems).

OK, I download the game and play tomorrow if Rymiss hasn't shown up by then

I dont have time today. How many tuirns do I have to play?

OK, Let's see what King Gumby can achieve:

1820 AD - Getting some workers to work

1822 AD - Automating some settlers so they can build our railroadnetwork.

1824 AD - Industralization has been discovered! Researching Electricity. Getting all trained calavary to the border. We may need them for a future war.

1826 AD - Traded world maps with the aztecs to keep them friends.

1830 AD - Nothing special

Sorry huys. But I don't have the time to play next turns any time soon. So I suggest the next player continous now.

That's ok Gumby. You can play how many turns you can as long as it isn't more than 20.

I have the game, and I'll post my turns tomorrow.

ok, just postin to say ive had net probs and on top of that ive been busy all week. but its all fixed now.

How come we have that much money? Who got those absurdly high deals?

1832 - I've raised the luxuries tax to get WLTK day all over our continent.
1834 - Upgraded our troops
1836 - We discovered Eletricity. Raised science output to get Scientific method in 4 turns.
1838 - Selled Eletricity to the Greeks, Indians, Russians and Aztecs fo 137gold/turn, furs, wines, 300gold and some wmaps.
1840 - Gave Eletricity for Egyptian Silk.
1842 - Babylon and Aztecs signed a MPP.
1850 - End of my turn.

I've played only 10 turns as college doesn't let me play more than this right now. As soon as I have some time, I'll post a picture and give some insights. For now I'll say this, choose very well the techs to sell. This way we don't need tax rates and we cripple the AI research.

Good Luck Morten.

I think we should give out techs like candy. After all, if we help the AI's research efforts, then we'll be able to take theirs for ours.

i disagree, what if we gave away the tech letting the ai build nuclear weapons? then because of that they will be able to buid nukes and then nuke us? we could probably use that to our advantage though by getting a friend to declare war on for example the english and then giving them tech so they can build powerful units to crush our foes for us.

Sorry for my moderating delay, but here it comes.

We've been waiting Morten for 48h, so he's being skipped now.
You can go ahead and play your turn Smiley
Good Luck!

So, Morten, are you abdicating your turn to me, or will you still be taking it? I'll give you a few hours before I seize the initiative and the save.

Man, a LOT happened during my latest reign. (Inhales)

I declared war on England. Shortly after, Berweck, Carlisle, and Umma were captured. Ipswick, on another island, was then the only English city left. At this point, Babylon demanded Electricity. I told them where to stuff it, and they declared war. I managed to repel all attacks, and later I got 20 Gold for a Peace Treaty with them. In the meantime, I had Greece declare war on them, in exchange for Scientific Method. (Exhale)

Let me pause for a moment and explain what I traded. I sold Industrialization and Scientific Method all around the world because some of the nations were beginning to discover it on their own, and I decided to dump my techs on the others before anyone else could. (Inhale)

Anyway, when Theory of Evolution was completed, Communism and Espionage were the techs discovered. That's always the way it's been for me. Oh, we were still at war with Babylon at the time. (We don't make peace 'til near the end of my turn). They had captured Fukushima, and, in the course of recapturing it, I find out that the Aztecs had signed an MPP with Babylon. This, of course, drew them into the war, and later Greece declared war on them, too. We added some statues to the palace, and wings connecting the primary building with the secondary buildings on the left and right. We also finished Battlefield Medicine (Moo Point) and Intelligence Agency (Forgot). We captured Ipswick, but the blasted Brits had erected Portsmouth on some dinky island far away. I send a boatload of troops out there, and made peace with them in the meantime. I signed MPPs with Egypt and India, and they declared war against the Aztecs. It'll also provide some more insurance against Babylon coming our way again. (Exhale)

So, it's now 1890. We're on the road to...uh, the one tech that gives the Destroyer. The Hoover Dam is being built. When we get Panzers (Yeah! Almost there!) we should build four transports, as many Panzers (make sure they're veterans) that can fit on, and launch a mass-scale invasion of Babylon, razing all their cities. Unless it has a wonder. Then let Babylon keep those cities until most other cities are gone. Then, BANG.

Nice turn Smiley!

It's your turn Rymiss. Good Luck!

Here's Smiley's kingdom.
