Successful Diplo demand crashes game

So previously whenever I demand anything from the AI they'd refuse and all would be well.

This time around I took France's capital (after I let them expand nearby the very previous turn) so they are down to their last city and its 1 pop. They have no units and I have them surrounded and the peace treaty just expired.

I demand 30 gold from Napoleon and the game crashes on me. I imagine it was because it would have been successful.

I loaded again, demanded from another AI, got refused and all well. Demand from Napoleon again and another crash.
