Succession game (Deity)

Got it.

I agree both about the Forbidden Palace and the troops. Unfortunately, I think India has a decent shot at getting the spaceship, and fighting mech inf. is not exactly fun either.

We are half an era behind, so I expect when we get artillery/infantry and have a big enough force of those and cavalry and railroads, they will have mech infantry for sure.

We know this game is in no rush. My most probable time to play is Saturday. I'll let you guys know how it went.

Elear, do you remember that you are also at SGTOM13?

I didn't really. I have so little time for civ I have to skip half of my SG turns at the moment. I'll try to check back in the thread soon, really, I'm sorry.

:bump: Anyone still interested in this? I mean I suspect we're loosing this, but then I'd prefer loosing it quickly and roll a new one. Letting the game drag along will surely let it die. So I would propose to re-install a playing regime, say 24 hours got it, 72 hours for playing.

That sounds fair.

24 hours to got it, 72 to play.

Starting now ;)

Roster:

Elear - Up
Elephantium - Next

So, shall I take into account you in Sgtom Roster? I am up there now...

Bucephalus: thanks for letting us know ;)

ThinkTank: I will probably play part tonight, part tommorow and post the save then.

Larkin: Yes, although I make no guarantees on my ability to play. The best times are of course, weekends.

What can I say? I will likely not be playing in any more SGs this spring due to lack of time (verily this is fair). However, I have a strong duty in my opinion to play this through with you. I have a little more time now, so let's see if we can't get somewhere. :D

I will be playing today for sure. :goodjob:

I played 8.5 turns or so and I think I will hand it off as soon as upload works again.

This game is really beyond me and I'm amazed that Bucephalus won. I've struggled with civil disorder and flipping cities, and in 890 AD, I lost a Knight army to ONE resister. This was just ridiculous (reminded me of the earlier flips in the game that made me want to quit), and hence why I'm handing it off.

On the plus side, we got a third saltpeter. :) Not much use for it, however.

Oh and Arabia has one city left (two with the flip in 890 AD). But they won't contact us so can't sue them off for more tech.

Deity on a pangeae is very difficult. Things can get very frustrating. I'll openly admit I'm out of my depth in this one, but it's still worth playing out. I have learned even at Emperor level about flips being not just likely, more like inevitable. Never put anything you can't afford to lose in a city that's likely to flip. Even at Monarch, Tlalmanco kept flipping during Rat 27, I think that one city flipped 5 times! Sounds like a tough turn.

Upload still down...

I say we keep playing still but I don't forsee the victory; I agree about Deity + pangaea, our continents idea would be better. :)

Use the other upload method. It's not as handy, but it works ok. Here is a picture:
