Succession Game Open: Need Three Players

Would someone explain to me how to properly upload files?

I can't upload the file the old way, and am not sure I'm following all of the instructions for the new way. It's uploaded as "xerxes, 930AD.sav." Now whether you can find it, I don't know. I emailed a copy to Dojoboy, who might be able to get it to you quicker than I can. I'll be unavailable most of the day, but would be happy to email it to you afterward, if you give me your address.

Back to the game:

The city building Bach's grew to size 11 by sacrificing some less-industrious Babylonian workers.

Some of our cities have build queues that preceded my turn. I changed some as I went along, but never bothered to clear them. I'd suggest keeping an eye on them, and not creating long build queues in the future, since they inevitably spill into the next player's turn.

I've been 1 for 3 in figuring out the "upload file" option. I'll PM Thunderfall or a moderator for more clarification than is given at the upload site.

Good idea. I'm big on setting up a build queu but never considered how it may slip up the next player.

Hey people, looks fun and highly collaborative. Can't join in because I'm applying for jobs on the other side of the planet, but I sure salute dojoboy's persistence in getting this one going.

I got saved game from dojoboy and I have finished my turn.

Nothing special, I just followed previous plan.
940-980AD We got three Indian cities with horse. India had riflemen, though they used them for attack instead of defence and failed. That made the job easier. Regretably, I could not get GL
Started building knight for upgrading cavalry.
1010AD Made peace with India, because Babylon did it first. I got Banking and Astronomy for peace and some money.
1050AD MT researched.
1060AD Built JSB;)
1130AD Game saved.

I spent GA for infrastructures and some units.
We have 8 cavalry and building some more, also building some masketmen. In a few turn, we are ready for war and getting some cities from Zulu. Fortunately, nobody has MT yet. Alternatively, we still can choose peaceful trait building banks and universities everywhere.
All three AIs we know are now in Industrial Age. We need three more techs and have 1300+gold, but I did not perchased.

I will send sav file back to dojoboy.

I got it. I'll play and post ASAP. gonzo_for_civ is going to post a step-by-step guide for using the upload feature. I do wish they'd increase the attachment size.

Pigumon emailed me a copy of his last save, and I couldn't open that, either. I use OS 9.1. Does anyone have any idea why I'm having a problem?

Now back to the game: that was great, Pigumon. We can now hold our own against anyone. My sense is that, with our MT edge, we can basically take out either Babylon or Zululand. Such a victory would help us reach the industrial era in tech. (We should probably also try to find the optimal time to trade MT - maybe after knocking out the horse resource of our designated enemy?)

After that, how do you guys feel about beelining for TOE?

Do you need browser to do e-mailing?
I do, and only IE can download playable sav files for me.

I will try sending a zip file.

Oh, my 100th post!

Pigumon, I use IE and Entourage. I've opened Dojoboy's files when mailed, and Buddhabubba's when posted. It's actually pretty outrageous that such compatibility problems exist among Mac OS's.

I can't open Pigumon's save file, either! :(

I started a thread to enlist help. Without that file, out succession game will be a cease-ation game!

Uh, Pigumon? You might not should generate a GOTM quite yet. Sorry, fella.;) Of course, it could be Txurce and me with the "glitch," don't mean to be directing it at you.

Dojoboy, you and I have different OS's, if I recall. So...

Pigumon, could you send it again? Maybe the glitch was a one-time thing. Because...

Dojoboy, didn't you already open one of Pigumon's saves? From his first go-round in the game?

I'm running the game under OS 9.2.1 not OSX, which I do have, but not using often because the missus gets "lost." :crazyeye:

You know, I thought I have opened Pigumon's games before. In fact, I had to inorder to keep the game going this long. I'm after him.

Browser is IE 5.0

Wierd. Mine is OS 9.0.

I tried to send you guys again. This time a zipped file. But before that, I tried to use easy upload on this forum. And it worked. At least I can find the file, download it and play it.

so, please try it and let me know the consequence.

I am not sure how to make link. Hope this works.

Sorry, I put "space" on my file name and forum server recognized it as the end of file name.
So, this link itself does not work.
Please copy&paste the link on your browser.

It worked! I'll play tomorrow evening. This is really weird!

BTW, Pigumon, I lived in Charleston from '94 - '99 while I was the head wrestling coach for The Citadel. Charleston is a fantastic place.

All right. Now, I know how to use uploading. May I make GOTM?

I came here Janurary, 2000, just after you left.
Did you see hurricane Floyd?
The world is quite wide, but sometimes narrower.

Yes, I think, for all your suffering, you should generate the next GOTM. In fact, I'll go stump for you right now.

No, I missed the hurricane experience fortunately. We were there after Hugo ('89). When was Floyd? However, on more than one occasion, my wife insisted we pack up and leave when a hurricane was threatening. I do not miss that experience.
