Suggestions and Requests

Would it be possible to apply quick fix to machine gun - infantry - marine/paratrooper triangle? Currently after researching globalism you stop build infantry completely, marine is better in all ways. I would propose Infantry 22:strength:, machine gun mod increased to 50%, marine and paratrooper reduced to 20:strength:, marine mods set to 50%. This would change back marine and paratrooper to they indented roles as specialist troops instead being mainline until mech infantry.

Currently nuclear plant event is way to punishing, not only second option still has meltdown chance but choosing safe option bars you from building ICBM.
In all honesty this is sad remnant of civ developer team anti nuclear bias.
More fitting would be something like jail event option, pay lump sum for reactor overhaul or get permanent  in city.
Also solar power plant should be renamed to renewable power plant and be buildable on all latitudes. All cities should have access to some type of clean power, with current power rules coal plant in later parts of game is unsustainable. Way to much :yuck: to mitigate.

So Leoreth, how the Helenism Greek build the Oracle while there's the Babylon built that a very long time ago, way before the Greek spawn. Obiviously, the Babylon didn't follow Greek Helenism.

I'll look into it.

Have you actually had a meltdown happen?

It's not, because I share their bias.

That's what it looks like for Babylonia. It only requires you to have your pagan religion, i.e. no state religion.

A meltdown destroyed an Israel game of mine, once. I was a few turns from building the ICBM required for the UHV when I got the event. Obviously denuclearization was not an option, so I chose the other option and voilà, the entire country is covered in fallout and my only city is reduced to, like, 4 population :)

I would suggest making it so that Israel cannot have a melt down until the UHV date. Same thing is done with most other civs where RNG can ruin a game.

Eh, it's an unlikely enough occurrence.
If you're not going to do it for the base mod, I'm going to do it for CMC. It's no fun losing a game despite doing everything right, no matter how unlikely.

To be honest it was kind of fun, due to the sheer enormity and unlikeliness of the event

The only thing that annoyed me is that cleaning fallout is available only in the Digital Era, so if you do get a meltdown (or a nuclear attack) before that point you can't do anything with the land

You didn't do everything right, you built a nuclear plant.

I'll look into it.

Yep, literally turn after building nuclear plant I got event choose middle option... and immediately get fallout. I think I have save somewhere. Build Nuclear plant in Rome, event should trigger one or two turns later.

Look not to get to political but anti nuclear stance is bit tiresome considering that it's one of safest methods of generating electricity. Coal or hydro power plants killed much more people than nuclear ever did. Yet there isn't any negative event with similar magnitude that nuclear one.

Unfortunately that event does not trigger for me.

Hmm, must be random seed. I played the game to end until posted save so event probably doesn't trigger. I lost BTW, god damn Russians or Americans are terminators at end game. There really should be some penalty modifier for number of cities or size as far as science is concerned. I was making 5k breakers per turn and still lost...
But from gameplay perspective such event is really bad option. It basically forces you to obsolete nuclear power and that means no ICBM or clean power for high/low latitude non river cities.
Solution:
1) Remove nuclear plant as perquisite to building ICBM.
2) Solar plant renamed and be able to be build anywhere to allow access to clean power for all cities.
Thoughts?

Save files include the random seed, but some other actions taken between the save and when the event is triggered can change the order in how the randomness is retrieved. This is why saves from right before the random roll are most useful.

The nuclear meltdown event expires with the discovery of Fusion. I think that solves your problem.

Fusion is bit late in game, basically almost at end of tech tree. Building a city on river in such case is enormous advantage because electronics is much earlier.
Itapu dam is horribly OP because of how game counts continents I guess.

Yeah, I also don't like this message.
