Suggestions and Requests

Maybe this belongs in the "Completely Dumb Ideas"-thread, but is it possible in theory to have dynamic UPs based on what the capital of a civ is? I was thinking that it could be a fun twist for the Vikings if that is the case, with the UPs being something along the lines of these:
Oslo: Longboats can cross capes maybe? Something colonization/exploration focused, enabling finding and settling Iceland/Greenland/Vinland in a "special way" of a kind.
Roskilde/Copenhagen: The Sound Due similar to their UP in RFC Europe
Stockholm: Bonus to gunpowder units - perhaps just the earliest ones - and bombards.

Could Greek leaderhead change from Pericles to Alexander be triggered either by earliest year Greek conquerors can spawn or spawn event itself, instead of empire size triggering the change? It's a bit weird that Alexander's conquests start by Pericles declaring war.
Or add Philip the second, who consolidated greece, and wanted to conquer persia (but was murdered)

Is there a code to prevent Holy Cities spawning in Capital cities?
I remember in previous versions, when you found Protestantism as HRE/France/England,
it would always spawn in Frankfurt/Paris/London.
Nowadays it seems to me as if they would never spawn in those cities, but rather Hamburg/Bordeaux/Edinburgh.

The code doesn't prevent the capital from becoming the holy city, but the capital does have a penalty making it less likely to become the holy city.

That is used to always spawn in the capital was because of a bug.

*checks the code to be sure*

Nope, the capital isn't favoured for Protestantism, like all religions*. However for Protestantism, all cities in the same region as your capital do get a bonus. This includes your capital, but as the penalty of being the capital still applies other cities are still better favoured. Furthermore all cities outside Europe have a penalty for becoming the Protestand holy city.

*Some particular cities do have a bonus for becoming the holy city of a certain religion. (For example Parsa has a bonus for becoming the Zoroastrian holy city.) Some of these cities, like Parsa, are often capitals, which make it appear that the bonus is connected to the capital status. But it is not, it is tied to the city (location).

Speaking of bribes, has anyone ever succeeded in altering another nation's choice with bribe/espionage in a World Congress?
It has always led to a "blunder" in my attempts, regardless of the cost(low/med/high).

There was a recent fix to a bug where the outcome would always be displayed as a failure, even when it succeeded.

one could argue basically anything

Are you accusing me of slander now? Your post is right above in its entirety. I think you need to shift down a couple of gears.

Okay, good to know that you are calm about this.

Sorry, I thought it was a request, not a question. The answer is yes. I could change the quote.

You are free to do that.

Hi, Leoreth!
my suggestion might be quite simple to formulate and i wonder it might have been many times suggested already, but i suppose that it might not be as simple to implement... Nevertheless It correlates with on-going development of changing civilizations mechanics, so I do really hope that we might see it one day in some git update :)

When player receives a message with possibility to switch to a new civilization - the new civilization already exists on the map and AI already ended its first turn. It sometimes really irritates as for example in some cases it is better to found capital in different places, but AI makes it right in the 1st turn, right at the place where its settler is appeared.

So, basically, my suggestion is to shift this switch dialogue window by 1 turn earlier and ideally try to unify the switch mechanic output with the result that you would see if you have just started playing for the new civilization from the beginning of the game without switching (dialogue about newborn civilization\civ-music change\you start from the first turn, etc).

Yeah, I already have that on the agenda for the new spawn implementation.

France has no historical area or city names in a lot of Western Africa and New Caledonia, even though they had the largest colonial empire and they still hold NC to this day.
