Summer Vacation Plans

I'm kind of dreading my first Japanese summer - it will be far too hot and humid for me. I'm however planning a short vacation to Hiroshima next month, which will be cool (apart from visiting the memorial park, which I'm told will totally ruin my day, but which I owe it to myself to go to).

Other than that I think I will just be hanging out by the nearest air conditioner.

Summer in Kyushu. Make sure you have lots of mosquito coils. Yes, the Hiroshima peace museum is a real downer, but why go to Hiroshima at all? Why not go to Nagasaki instead. It's closer, has an a-bomb site, and is a much nicer city to boot.

It's not summer for another two months.
I always think of the UK summer starting around now, just after my birthday (which was the 9th). In fact the day after my birthday was very very sunny and warm, so it felt liek the start of summer!:)

Nagasaki is closer in theory but Hiroshima is quicker to get to thanks to the wonders of the shinkansen. I'll do both eventually.

None. I will be working full time for a gubernatorial campaign for cash and college credit. From maybe next week to the September primaries.

whats gubernatorial???

Im going on holiday with my girlfriend to turkey for 2 weeks, then working quite a bit and spending time with her and my mates before i finally go off to uni for the first time. :)

Gubernatorial = governor (e.g. working for the governor's reelection)

In June I'm off to Europe (specifically Eastern and Central) for a few weeks to travel around in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany (yes, I'll be there when the World Cup is going on...no, I'm not going to a game) by train.

In June I'm visiting some relatives and colleges in the East for my older brother.

In August I'm staying in Florida in a condo we have there...

I can't wait until I can get a job...

That's correct. Though thankfully this is my governor's last year in office (Pataki...blech). I'll be working in the Tom Suozzi campaign. He has very little chance of making it through the primary in September against Eliot Spitzer, that's why I said it lasts until then. But it by no means assures me that I will be slacking off. If anything, the workload increases the closer one gets to that primary.

This summer will be amazing.

1.) Getting a membership at the local golf course, and will hopefully get good enough to play on the golf team in the fall.
2.) Going to Spirit Song to see a number of great bands, including Relient K and Falling Up.
3.) Going a youth retreat at Stuebenville, Ohio.
4.) Going to Kings Island, a really cool amusement park.
5.) Post on CFC, of course. ;)

June- July Geomatry Summer School
Late July - Early August National Order of the Arrow Conferance (Boy Scout honour society party)
August - Student Leadership trip to Washington DC and New York
Late August - Collage visits in DC, New York, and Boston

Take the train north to Lake Towada it is a spiritual place. Visit Misawa a very giagin friendly city.

I'm planning on becoming a game tester and attending my cousin's wedding.

Suozzi, even though I'm unsure of who I will vote for in the primary. It'll certainly be the Democrat in the November general election, given that the Republicans with William Weld and John Faso can't seem to get things together...and I have a lot of disagreements with them anyways.
