Sunday's PAX talk (with summary of the info)

The issue herein is that the same few faith bonuses will be chosen every game if they are not equal in strength. However, I have faith (Dohoho) that they'll either be more balanced by release or that our resident modders will make it so.

The different beliefs appear to be pretty situational, though (and this is how they've been described so far). Going by Optional's list (post #181), if you're near jungles Sacred Path will be quite powerful. But if you have a lot of stone around, Stone Circles will be. It may appear that one is more powerful than the other, but which one you go for will be entirely dependent on the situation you find yourself in. It won't be the same every time. The universal ones (Fertility Rites, God of Craftsmen, etc.) are likely to be snapped up often, but not if you're in terrain that could be better leveraged with another belief.

I would bet that if they can build missionaries, then religious city-states will be building them left and right.

Are there Great Spies? regular spies aren't units anymore.

Would've been undoubtely mentioned by now, there's only two new Great people, the admiral and the prophet.

The_J you forgot the Pigs resource if I read correctly. I thought one looked like corn but no one verified that. Pigs for certain though.

Pigs are in, but mentioned earlier.
-> yes, a bit poor organization, we'll have to structure it a bit.

I'd just like to point out that 2k announced they were visiting Firaxis today and doing more interviews which they were then posting on their website. They mention the visit 51 mins 45 seconds into the video. Sounds like we've more information to come soon :).

The question is: When today?

The question is: When today?

They didn't say. Elizabeth mentioned they were spending a couple of days there - I don't know if they'll be too tired from PAX east and travelling to Firaxis' HQ to do that much today and probably will do the interviews tomorrow?

Spies earn exp which later translates into a GP like for GGen & GAdm.

Great Spy were mentioned in an article way back in February but it seems it was overlooked I suppose.

This seems, hmm, inaccurate. They said that all spy related stuff goes through the espionage screen, so I doubt there's a 'great spy' that wanders around. And I doubt they'll add spy XP to the normal war XP for generating GGs/GAds.

I hope there aren't great spies. They seemed kind of silly in IV.

I don't know if anyone else noted or it was posted elsewhere but did the units hp on the demo changed from 10hp to 100hp? the battles only last for 1 turn, so where is the difference from vanilla civ 5?

Acutally.. I do think it's Zulu.. the colors.. I recognise them, I saw them in the demo, a part of a green colored nation was seen during i believe the walkthrough of Attila.. or late Dido one..

But I did saw the colours.

A lot of differences . One of the things that makes ranged unit so powerful in vanilla was the fact that their minimum damage is always 1,which means they can kill any unit(even the GDR) .

Great so it is the Zulu! :D I wonder what their UA is then.

Do you mean the Ethiopians, their color is a dark green with red

Here is the list the last one is the Zulus! GREAT!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:ApprenticeFan/Sandbox/Civilization_V He has to change to droman for Byzantium though.

Does the color on that list above match what you saw in the demo?

Nope, there was a second light green civilization that had very little land, I didn't see any red nor a dark green, it was the color that the "article" has. So I think the Zulus have a very high chance, how could he know a minor detail like that?

Yes, it's a light green one. I'd do a screenscap but because the demo/vid is like 5 hours long it's a b***h to actually watch it.

Why would we trust wikipedia as a source, especially when they specifically said they weren't announcing the final civ?

Have to agree with Camikaze

You can see the colours used in the demo in the minimap here. The other green is the same as is used by the Celts.
