Superpower Vs regional power

Nah, we don't have slavery so I don't see that coming about ;)

On the League of Nations: here we have the guy who came up with it:

Looks familiar? Yeah, that's the president who subsequently failed to get his own country to join an institution he thought up himself, which would then doom it to eventual irrevalence and inability to do anything to prevent WW2. Well done America.

I guess we can return to you proving your superficial knowledge about the European Union now.

America has the right to screw up its own idea, thank you very much. If you want a League of Nations, perhaps you guys should have suggested it yourselves and made it awesome without American... oh wait, you couldn't have, because America brings the awesome for everyone else.

How is world war 2 not a European family feud?

Also, did you ever think you would see a day in which a German would accuse America of causing WWII?

I fail to see how America started WWII.

I thought that the only other carrier that China had was turned into a hotel?

They bought the ex-Varyag from Russia and have turned it into what seems to be a carrier research ship, it's been out to sea a few times I believe. They seem to be building up skills before they construct their own class of carriers.

Hitler was related to neither Stalin, King George VI, Chamberlain, Daladier or Roosevelt. Or any of their successors.

How was that a family feud?

Why is "the US was not a member" always the excuse for the failure of the League of Nations? The US was for the most part isolationist during the period, and nothing in its actions caused the LoN to fail. It failed because of the differences among its other members.

America is at fault for everything terrible, you just need to know where/how to look.

First, maybe you should switch out of your don't mess with Texas mode because you're embarassing yourself.

Second, I didn't accuse America of causing WW2.

And of course everything an American president touches is great except when it fails, because then the world obviously didn't deserve it. Sure.

Fun Fact: The phrase "Don't Mess with Texas" was originaly used as part of an anti-littering campaign.

Haha. My comments were COMPLETELY silly. I thought using high-school language would make that clear. Just giving you a hard time. :)

One thing I never kid about: DON'T mess with Texas!!! :)

Oh come on, it was obvious he was trying to be funny. ;)

To finally answer the actually question of this thread, instead of attacking others posting in it, I'd say it doesn't matter how you reference "superpower." It is meaningless.

We all know which countries can project their power globally and which can't. We also know which country spends more on defense than anyone else, by far and has the most influential culture and politics, etc.

I would think that if you felt the need to classify nations in this way, the USA should be in the top tier, other global powers in the next tier, and then regional powers and then the rest.

How was that a family feud?

Not literally a family feud, figuratively. By your definition of family feud, even the American civil war wasn't exactly a family feud.

Europe was at war with itself.

Please don't try to convey the idea that Europe was/is a united entity. :cringe:

Also... Aliens.

This is the point I'm making. Europe is NOT a united entity. It's the European union fanboys that say otherwise.

i totally pictured him typing that up while carrying a bomb like in his avatar.

oldschooler:
all wars are family feuds. if you wanna think like that.
