Thousands flee Congolese cities as South Africa continues its advance.
AS ONE CONGO FALLS, NIGERIA MOVES INTO THE OTHER Brazzaville, Nigeria
The Republic of Congo, facing near annihilation, receives a small military and financial aid from neighboring, unnamed countries, to hold out longer against the Empire of Nigeria. The aid does extend the fighting until nearly the end of the month and causes two more infantry divisions to be destroyed, but eventually the Nigerians squashed the rest of the resistance. Now with the Republic of Congo defeated, the Nigerians turned to aid the Democratic Republic of the Congo by sending in its 2nd Army to engage the dug-in and well-supplied Western People’s Army of the PRSA. Coordinated efforts with the Congolese resistance forces provides that the Nigerians gain an upper hand in terms of numbers, but the South Africans remain dug into well prepared defenses in and around Kinshasa. Not much fighting in this theater yet due to the late arrival of Nigerian forces, but initial skirmishes have caused light casualties for both sides (2 Congolese infantry, 1 mechanized South African division, and 2 Nigerian infantry).
Fighting elsewhere in Congo has gone increasingly in favor of the South Africans, who, after a change in leadership, have been able to correct the wrongs made in past operations. Bringing its air force to full support of the Congo invasion, as well as reinforcements in the form of airborne divisions, has increased the effectiveness of the invasion. Congolese forces are rooted out from their jungle fortresses, and little attention is paid to civilian casualties as South African forces plunder, bombard, and burn villages that are known to harbor dissidents. Most of the southern provinces fall to South African armies, only Kisangani remains as a major city in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

EU BUILDS FIRST SPACE SHUTTLE Cayenne, EU
As the world enters an unprecedented level of peace (only Africa remains engulfed by major war), the EU continues to invest heavily into its space program. The state-of-the-art space center in Cayenne, the capital of what was formerly French Guyana, has risen hopes among many Europeans in that the EU might be the first superpower to regain its presence in space. To that end, the EU has built its first shuttle, docked at the Cayenne Space Center, and is being prepared for launch presumably next month for its first entrance into the upper atmosphere and possible space itself.
RUSSIA HOLDS REFERENDUM IN NORTHWEST CHINESE REGION Shuiding, Russia
As Chinese rebels combat Russian occupation forces across China, the Russian governor-general of the western provinces has instituted a referendum in the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture in the very top corner for western China. The area, a hot bed of ethnic tension since the early twentieth century, remains very much so divided on the issue of whether to remain with Russian-occupied China, or to join Kazakhstan. In the end, the referendum for union with Kazakhstan was defeated, and the protectorate remains a part of China.
UIS BEGINS BOMBING TURKISH FORCES Damascus, Syria
As Turkish forces remain in Armenia to await the arrival the Russian army to relieve them, the UIS has repositioned its elite air wing, now named
The Enforcement of Allah’s Will to bases in northern Syria. From here the order was given for a complete air attack on Turkish forces both in Armenia and Turkey, seemingly paving the way for a UIS land attack. The UIS air wing is unquestionably the most powerful air force on the planet, and this much is proven by both the accuracy and firepower that is displayed in the attack. The Turkish army was quick to withdraw from Armenia in disperate hopes that the UIS might cease its bombardment, but was soon forced underground to avoid the ever-coming onslaught. In this month alone, the Turkish air force, 8 infantry divisions, 4 mechanized divisions, 3 armored divisions, 1 artillery and 2 gunships have been wiped out, which is nearly half of Turkey’s overall military power. Now Turkish forces have been relocated to better defended areas, as well as underground facilities to protect itself from the attacks. The awesome firepower displayed has put governments of even superpowers across the globe in a very nervous state.
MEXICO AND USSA SIGN PEACE, PACT New York, USSA
In a very surprising move, the USSA and the Empire of Mexico have reached an agreement on peace involving the destruction of the despotism in Mexico and replace it with a communist government, while also signing an alliance with the USSA. This move comes as a shock to both peoples, but especially to the people of USSA. They have been fed propaganda and rhetoric for the destruction of Mexico and the expansion of the USSA across North America, and this peace seemed more like a defeat to them then a victory, which they believed was about to be reached. As such, stability in the USSA has plummeted, reaching lower levels than anywhere else on the planet. Stability in Mexico has also dropped, as many do not support communism. In both countries, civilian strife has led to the formation of underground resistance groups and organizations bent on the continuation of the war in the USSA, and the revival of Empire in Mexico.
ARMED UPRISINGS IN CHINA THREATEN STABILITY Shanghai, Japanese Empire
As the occupation of China enters its third month, stability across the region is shook as a well-planned, well-organized revolt in all three occupation zones rocks the inner cities and countryside alike. Two resistance groups claim responsibility, the People’s Liberation Front, and the Chinese Freedom Now organizations, the latter fighting for an independent Chinese republic and the former for the institution of a new Chinese communist state comprising mostly just the Japanese occupation zone. As a result, most of the uprisings take place in the urban areas of the Japanese zone, destroying two infantry divisions.

New stability rules: a rating of anywhere from 46-54 means neither losing nor gaining credits, but for every 5 points either a credit is lost/gained. Essentially the same rules, but instead of going by 10s, we’re going by 5s. So 55 means +1, 60 means +2, 45 means -1, 40 means -2, etc.
ORDERS DUE BY WEDNESDAY!
