USSA forces seizing important road in Ontario
USSA ATTACKS CANADA, USHERS IN 2ND CANADIAN WAR Vancouver, USSA
With the victory against Mexico and now with a secure southern border, the USSA heavy military now returns its focus to the north and resumes conflict with Canada. It was only months ago that the USSA army met defeat against the Canadians, having been defeated at Toronto and Ottawa. Now though the USSA army is one of the largest in the Western hemisphere, equipped with advanced mechanical technology and fresh off the front with Mexico. The first attack was aimed at a rapid assault against the lightly-defended Vancouver, Canadas largest city in the west. Fighting intensified in the suburbs as Canadian citizens began forming militia, slowing down the USSA assault. Eventually the Canadian units were ordered to surrender to the USSA 2nd Motorized Army, Vancouver falling into the hands of the USSA before much damage was done to the city. All in all, the 2nd Motorized division suffered little to no casualties, while the 1st Artillery Brigade lost 2 infantry divisions. Canadian forces suffered minimal losses as most were withdrawn to the east. Now that Canada has lost its pacific coast and a link has been formed with Alaska, the western American forces are now poised to strike eastwards.
The toughest fighting occurs in the east, where the 1st Motorized and 1st Armored divisions initiate Operation Glory Everlasting which includes a two-pronged attack on the city of Toronto, the financial capital of the Dominion of Canada. It is also here that the greatest air war in North American history takes place as the weaker but more numerous Canadian Air Command defends its country against the Flying Aces. Though losing 4 fighters, the Air Command has gained air superiority, destroying 2 fighter wings of the Flying Aces. Meanwhile a Canadian counter attack is aimed against the Twin Cities of Minnesota and Detroit, striking important industrial sectors and arousing fear among USSA citizens. Meanwhile on the ground the Canadian units are routed near Toronto by the two-pronged attack, the city falling to USSA forces. Nearly half the Canadian forces remain south of Toronto, and pose a significant obstacle to further USSA advances. The front here has been bloody, causing 2 mechanized infantry divisions, 2 infantry divisions, an armored division and an artillery division to be destroyed as the Canadians lose five infantry divisions, two mechanized divisions, three armored divisions, a gunship and an artillery brigade. The Canadian fleet, a rather worthy opponent to the USSA Atlantic fleet, remains off the charts.

OCCUPATION FORCES MAKE HEADWAY IN CHINA Shanghai, Japanese Empire
With more attention and more troops devoted to China, the occupying powers have been able to curb the growing dissent among the Chinese people. In the south, the Indians have traded their own military governors for Chinese governors, each leader chosen among his or her ethnic group to lead their district. The Indian government claims it is working towards organizing a new federal state for south China, the region it currently occupies. So far little effort has been made to train a Chinese force, a major step towards independence, so the Chinese still rely on the Indian army for security. Dissent here is mild, but then again it never really had the flare that its counterparts under Japanese and Russian occupation had.
The Japanese, meanwhile, take a different approach. Instead of beefing up security forces, the Japanese have instituted a program that has occupation forces retreat from urban centers and relocate to the suburban and rural setting, but retaining the option for Japanese forces to redeploy into the cities Security within the cities themselves are mostly left up to local Chinese police and other civilian controls. This has been coupled with an economic rebuilding plan, costing literally trillions of yen to rebuild Chinese infrastructure, and even improve schools of universities. The result has been mild so far, most Japanese units continually have to redeploy to the urban centers to restore order or break up an illegal protest, but small gains have been noticed as the Chinese mood has become somewhat milder. Some small protests at home are worth mentioning as Japanese civilians protest the huge stimulus plan for the Chinese, but not a dime for them. The occupation zone seriously lacks any Japanese military police, and the reliance on Japanese regular units for occupation duty is somewhat demoralizing to the soldiers.
UIS INVADES TURKEY, CAPTURES ANKARA Ankara, UIS
In a lightening quick decision, the UIS accompanied its month-long bombardment of Turkish forces with an all-out invasion of the Turkish mainland, a view many believe to be overkill for responding to the Turkish infraction against Armenia four months ago. Army two began the war by crossing the southern border and taking the city of Toros. Sanliurfa was next to fall in southern Turkey, as Army 2 advanced further inward. Instead of continuing the attack here, though, the UIS refocused its attention on the densely populated Anatolia coast in western Turkey. In the beginning weeks the UIS fleet chased off the Turkish navy, destroying the entire surface fleet and two submarines. The Turks managed to sink two UIS destroyers. With control of the seas, Task Force Balls was brought in, landing in Anatolia against heavy resistance (-1 armored, 2 infantry). The city of Izmir was the first to fall, giving Task Force Balls a port from which to resupply. From here, the force drove southwards, encountering only little resistance, until reaching Antalya, where fighting heated up. Here the Turks had fortified houses, sewers, and other infrastructure to force a door-to-door battle with the UIS. Instead of risking countless UIS lives, though, the
Enforcement of Allahs Will was simply called in to level the city, killing any Turkish military elements within it, as well as nearly eighteen thousands Turkish civilians. For a week straight UIS bombs dropped on the city 24 hours a day. The city was completely leveled, wiped off the map one might say.
Lives saved there were soon put to use with the assault on Ankara. This time the Turks were ordered not to garrison the city as they did in Antalya, fearful of the same UIS reprisal, and instead engaged the UIS forces on the road to Ankara. Again, the UIS air force was brought in to greatly soften up the Turks, forcing them to retreat to underground bunkers. A follow up attack by UIS ground forces ended the Turkish defense force of Ankara, and the city soon fell.
Meanwhile the Turks made headway against the UIS on the southern front. Believing attention in Ankara and the new front in Istanbul would distract all Turkish forces, the cities of Toros and Sanliurfa were left in the hands of just three military police battalions. A small Turkish counterattack, made up of militia and local police forces were able to retake the land here and destroy the military police battalions. Meanwhile, Army 2 had been redeployed to Turkish Europe, where the siege of Istanbul had begun. This is where most of the remaining Turkish regulars are garrisoned, along with the Turkish government (having escaped Ankara). Resistance is deep here, the UIS already taking casualties (3 infantry).
AS DISSENT REMAINS HIGH IN ULSR, FORCES OCCUPY COSTA RICA San Jose, ULSR
Just one month ago the ULSR was called the Mexican Empire, its people enjoying the liberties of capitalism and its army engaged in an unholy struggle against the communists of the USSA. Now the Emperor is gone, capitalism transformed into communism, and its military even renamed to represent the worldwide struggle for the working man. I need not say more; dissent continues to rise throughout all of former Mexico as pro-Imperial forces and capitalist forces join together to resist the communists. Complete and utter victory, with little casualties, in Costa Rica has helped somewhat to ease the pain of transition, but the bitter taste remains in the mouths of Mexicans. The taste of what many say to be betrayal and treason by their government to the USSA. Furthermore, the invasion of Costa Rica has provoked cries of fear among Venezuelans and other South American republics of the spread of communism. Many believe Panama to be the final straw, if Panama goes so does capitalism in South America.

As the European Space Agency is born again and two new satellites are launched (one missiles, one spy), millions of Europeans from London to Berlin to Rome take to the streets to celebrate their countrys technological and economic prowess. As the only country to even have a space port, the EU is light-years ahead of any other power on Earth with their space technology and expertise.
RUSSIAN 74TH MOTORIZED ARRIVES IN ARMENIA, TOPPLES REGIME Yerevan, Russian Federation
After the military takeover of Armenia last year, the government has struggled to hold onto power and keep peace in the country, especially after the intense UIS bombing campaign that drove Turkish forces out but also badly damaged the infrastructure of the country. Russian forces entered the country late in the month peacefully, but faced opposition when it finally rolled into Yerevan. Forces loyal to the military junta fought a street-by-street war in the rubble that is Yerevan until they were finally defeated, taking down one mechanized infantry division with them. So far no evidence has been found for the atrocities Turkish forces reportedly committed.
