What attributes do you have that would help you survive in the wild?

Thats a great question. Unfortunatly, I have no wilderness survival skills, except for a willingness to eat bugs in a pinch. I'd probably get eaten by a bear. On second thought, maybe it would mistake me for another bear and leave me alone.

The most valuable one of all: The will to survive.

I absolutely have no survival skills of any type, except for a sense for self-preservation. I doubt I'll survive in the wild for longer than a few days. :)

A lot of experience in that type of area and associated skills, patience, resilience, persistence and destiny.

I did a lots of canot-camping in the wild ( Québec).

1.- i know how to fish with very rudimentary tool.
2.- I know how to settle trap to catch small game.
3.- i know how to make a sling shot to kill some dummy bird ( it is call perdrix, it behave like a domestic chicken).

4.- I know i can eat crude insect ( very rich in protein).

5.- I know how to built a rain proof shack ( by using tree's resin as a scellent).

6.- The only darn thing i find pretty hard is to survive in winter time, the climate here in is very harsh in winter, temperature go as low as minus 30-35 degree celsius. The native american was able to sustain such cold weather, but us, white man didnt have this ''evolution tool to keep us warm, essentialy much more very small blood vein under skin". I hate winter, i hate cold.

I could survive fine in the wilderness. I would probably enjoy it. But winter would really kick me in the pants. My survival would depend on the headstart I got stockpiling stuff.

A metal tool such as a pocketknife or hatchet would improve anyone's odds immensely.

Wow. I dunno if I would do well in the wild. If I had anything that would save me, it's the fact that I'm tenacious and physically fairly strong. I'm no good with fire, and I hate killing animals, so I probably wouldn't make it. :p

Or you could get lucky. :groucho

Well I go nowhere without smokes and a light so I'd just start a fire and get meself rescued.

My sensible city-dweller's tendency not to be daft enough to venture into the wild in the first place ;)

I would survive in the wild very well... as food for the bears ;)

I think I would probably do pretty well... I spent most of my youth in the semi-wilderness on the the BC coast.

Being a boy scout taught me nothing.

I'd hope for a rope and that I have enough will power to have the energy to get to civilization. If I had to stay in the wild, I'd hope to have a nice stream of water nearby and enough brains to tell me how to catch small animals for food.

Survival wouldn't be that hard. I'm already living without a TV, so its pretty much the same thing :ack:

I'd live as a hermit, I wouldn't go back :D

sure i'd survive.

I've read the SAS Survival Handbook a few times...

And well, combining my camping skills with my engineering skills I think I coul dfare okay.

I doubt if i could survive that well. 3 days on a camping trip this summer and i think i barely made it out alive I have sworn off camping forever.
