System requirements are out!

As I understand it, integrated draws from the computer RAM and not its own, so you have to sacrifice graphics for speed. Right click on your desktop, select 'integrated graphics', '3D', and 'performance.' That should make it the game run smoother but uglier.

(I have yet to try this, though).

For comparison, these are the Civilization 5 requirements:

Spoiler :
MINIMUM:
OS: Windows® Vista SP2/ Windows® 7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 64 2.0 GHz
Memory: 2GB RAM
Graphics:256 MB ATI HD2600 XT or better, 256 MB nVidia 7900 GS or better, or Core i3 or better integrated graphics
DirectX®: DirectX® version 9.0c
Hard Drive: 8 GB Free

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows® Vista SP2/ Windows® 7
Processor: 1.8 GHz Quad Core CPU
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: 512 MB ATI 4800 series or better, 512 MB nVidia 9800 series or better
DirectX®: DirectX® version 11
Hard Drive: 8 GB Free

So this finally shuts down the naysayers that kept comparing it to 'older games'/'mobile' specs.

The min spec for civvi is higher than the recommended for CivV, and we all know the recommended specs for CivV were low.

basic synopsis:

If your CPU or GPU is older than 4-5 years old, it probably won't run Civvi very well, if at all.

OS needs to be 64 bit (already known) and min dx version is dx11 (basically already known). So that cuts down a lot of 'old' graphics cards. And odd that dx12 isn't mentioned.

Integrated graphics (desktop) will probably not do, unless maybe in an APU chip that has a core or two of recent GPU quality (Ie an AMD 10 core APU that has 1-2 R9 390 GPUs).

RAM is still not a 'huge' issue, though more than 8 is good to run things other than civvi at the same time.

well, the laptop i bought with civ VI in mind should do the trick.

Wasnt expecting recommended settings to go up to a x70 series in GPU though. But my 960m should do just fine. I might pump up some ram though.

Note, to even try this on Intel Integrated Graphics, it needs to be 4000 or higher to support DX11, I believe. Otherwise, the hardware is not there. And it definitely won't support DX12.

I just upgraded the processor, graphics card and power supply on my computer so that I can play Civ VI. It looks like I would've met the minimum anyway, but before upgrading Civ V ran really terribly in the late game. The minimum for Civ VI might mean playing small maps only.

That is a HIGGGGH GPU requirement! Civ 5 was 256 MB and htis is 1 GB MINIMUM!

geez. I get its worth it but still damn. Civ 6 is a rich nerds game.

I'm assuming my videocard on laptop is good?

hopefully this game is not unplayable on huge map 1900 AD like Civ 5 was

no and it wasn't the hardware but the software

Yeah, I really hope it will run at least on this. I have a laptop from work that vastly exceeds the RAM and processor requirements, but is stuck with intel graphics, specifically "Intel HD Graphics 4600" which seems to have 128 MB or dedicated video memory plus 2048 MB of shared system memory. I really hope it is at least playable. I don't really care how nice the graphics look and am happy to turn any discretionary graphics settings down to their lowest level to play, but of course I don't want the game to just crash or for turns to take forever.

I have an AMD APU...anyone have an idea of where it as well as my graphics card fall in that range?

AMD A10-5800K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 3800 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
AMD Radeon HD 7660D + HD 6670 Dual Graphics 1GB
16 GB ram

Maybe? I was surprised people were still saying that after some of the later videos and screenshots were released. Sure the colors are "cleaner" but it looks like there's way more going on graphically than in CiV.

Ughhhhh... My CPU won't be able to handle it :/ (i5-4210U @ 1.70 GHz) :(

Waiting for a sale and a new computer then :/

EDIT: It looks like my CPU goes up to 2.7GHz, depending on temperature... Does it mean I could try to run it, but it could potentially overheat and/or cause something very bad to happen to my computer?

I exceed the recomended specs on everything but graphics... I think... and there I'm not sure because AMD doesn't seem to go in a numerical order, at least if I'm reading these comparisson sites correctly, which I may not be. I have an AMD Radeon HD8570, 2GB which should do, I'm thinking. I'll try it and upgrade if I have problems. I think. Unless you fine folk tell me I'm doomed. DOOOOMED.

The HD 8570 is indeed better than the recommended spec of HD 7970. It's even a bigger number ;)

And yes, AMD uses the normal bigger number is better thing - within the type. So HD vs HD bigger is better wrt the first 2 numbers.

HD vs R9 is a little different since the 7970 is roughly equivalent to the R9 260 I think, give or take since the R9 series is mostly a rebranded HD card set.

I was misreading the chart then. Thank you so much.
