Coffee or tea?

trooper: You underestimate me sir. I'm going to post up some good recipes for Masala Chai and Mint Tea (another good hangover cure) in El Justo's gastronomomonomy thread.

I usualy drink tea but i like coffee too, but i don't want to get addicted so soon. :)

Anyway, i've heard that drinking lots of tea can drain your body of iron (and thus get an anemia in your hands).
Is this true ? Did anyone ever heard of this ? Is there scientific proof to this or is it just a rumour? (links please)

I drink both, but prefer coffee by far. That even out our household, as my housemate is from Ostfriesland and a hardcore tea drinker. It's not unusual that he sits in the kitchen for an hour, doing nothing but sipping on his tea.

I got my anxiety disorder mainly from drinking too much tea.

dont drink either much - hate coffee, but do like a good mug of tea.

I hope you don't post pictures of that other hangover cure...:scared:

I'm a tea man myself, usually drink 8 cups a day.

Um, yeah, you could say that. I recall one instance where I got stuck with first and last radio watch on manuevers one time every night. I was popping vivarin like it was going out of style. You talk about an upset stomach.

Oh, and don't crush it up and snort it, hoping the caffeine will hit your brain faster. Bad, bad, BAD idea.

Just when I gained so much respect for you (I am a sun-brew iced tea addict as well), you go and blow it by snorting caffeine pills.

BTW - during a similar situation (stuck on radio in the middle of the night) I opened up an MRE and dumped the pack of hot chocolate down my throat - also a no-no if you should need to speak anytime in the next 10 minutes.:ack: :vomit:

I don't drink anything with a lot of caffeine in it.

I drink milk, water, and fresh juice (that I make myself or get from a farm or some such).

I don't want to have to rely on a drink to keep me going :).

I've never seen the votes so evenly matched.

I never took coffeine pills. How expensive are they? And any downsides?

I preferred chocolate covered coffee beans for all-nighters, but it was really easy to OD (uncontrollable shakes), so I've sworn off them now.:twitch:

Those should be complete opposites no?

How come you are all suddenly into Earl Grey and green teas?

When I used to post about this kind of thing, I seem to remember being the odd one out... I don't like being normal... please go back to drinking Diet Pepsi and Cream Soda.

cream soda? diet pepsi? :vomit:

Sorry if it makes you feel normal, but those two teas are my absolutle favorite. Sometimes ill even spice things up and have some jasmine tea.

Fine, I'm distinguishing myself with a cup of hibiscus, apple and cinnamon tea.

I don't actually have any Earl Grey.
