Tech discovery voice overs

Your voice has this rich sound to it that I think could be adapted to a lot of purposes appropriate to this brand of fantasy. I suppose I could nitpick and say that the quote has this touch of humor to it that is kind of missing in the read, but I'm sure once you get into the swing of things that kind of thing will come out naturally

On another note, Rhoanna's Horseback Riding "we are faster than the storms" quote from a guy would just be weird, simply because I always imagine a woman's strong voice reading it.

Done a few read-throughs of the technologies under 'A' trying to get a good, solid feel on what I want the voice to be. Very excited about this!

I'm actually from the USA, but the reason it might seem a bit accented is that I was trying to find kind of a 'narrator' voice. The process of finding the voice I want to use should smooth out the bumps there, hopefully. And I've always got you guys for feedback, so that'll help. I initially sped up the read because I was worried about length. But since the plan, now, is to do two sets of reads - one full quote, one abbreviated - I think I'll go at a more natural pace.

I honestly thik you are a lot better than MANY voice actors i have heard in games. you could easilly be paid for this you know

regarding the sample the only problem i have is that it is too fast, other than that its perfect. but now i see you did speed it up so thats not a problem.

i do have to agree that the biggest issue will be with the Female quotes. there should definately be a bit of a mix. so if you know of any female voice actors that want to collaborate...

one final thing. if you are worried about the kind of voice you want to use, why dont you upload a sample of various ones you think would work, and then we can give you our oppinions on those?

Well ... perhaps not THIS.

It'll have a lot more cohesion if it's all done by one voice. I don't think any of the quotes from women will sound weird if done by a man.

Getting paid for this profession (rather than just this project, heh) is definitely an end goal. And hey, if I can put this together in a solid, professional way, then I think that's a pretty great resume builder, considering the success of the mod and community. There are definitely benefits for myself in doing this!

The sample sounds quite good. One minor comment though, I felt it was read a tiny bit too fast (although, that was a longer quotation, so...)

*Ignore the comments about shorter quotes. Many of them are long, yes. But, I don't think the feel can be encapsulated in shorter statements.

It was good, but I think you should try and keep it down to 10~ seconds max for each quote.
I'm not sure if this will work for all techs, but most quotes should probably be possible to shorten.
Now if it actually works with full quotes and you're willing to do that, then it might be ok too

I'm done with A-C, working my way through the alphabet on the techs! A few other projects distracted me but I'm back to working on this so hopefully I'll have something up quite soon.

I think u should go with the shorter versions.

Mmmmm. Before you do too much, I think you should throw up some more samples on techs you've done, with different readings and lengths.
