CIV4TechInfos file is full on these type instances. Will this cause WfoC hangs?

JosEPh

Edit: there are over 70 instances of this type throughout the file.
There are also 2 duplicate files; Cyberimm and Voodoo.

I've corrected them in my recent SVN rev 3057 that I d/l'd at 12:30pm today.

Should I upload my file?

No. Also I fail too see any semantic difference between them. They are the same XML with slightly different whitespace aren't they?

I suppose so I'm not educated in XML. The "whitespace" can be up to a complete line separation in Wordpad.

Also see edit in previous post.

I fixed all of the issues reported by Vokarya and JosEPh, as well as set Druidism a good bit earlier on the tree. This should make the new religion founding much more polished.

I also had to re-add DH's buttons, as for some reason my SVN client would not recognize them, sorry. Everything should now work fine.

@is612,

Did you remove the duplicate techs too?

And when will this go to SVN.

Here's the file I updated/made corrections on.

Vokarya told be about the duplicate Voodoo, so that is gone. The druidism TXT issue and the overlapping techs you reported are now fixed, as well as some redundancies that Vokarya pointed out. Update your SVN to get these fixes.

You might want to relook at this as it places Mesop on top of another tech again.
If I did it right.

JosEPh

Its suppose to go ...

X22 Y1 = BLANK
X22 Y3 = The Wheel
X22 Y5 = Candle Making
X22 Y7 = Mining
X22 Y9 = Fermentation
X22 Y11 = Ancestor Worship
X22 Y13 = Oratory
X22 Y15 = Duelism
X22 Y17 = Divination
X22 Y19 = Mesopotamism

That column is X22 by my count.

JosEPh :)

Um now they are showing up wrong. Techs that have not been founded should have a :religion: in the corner. Those that HAVE been founded should look just like you had before using the religion icons.

In other words all the religious techs should get their appropriate icon/buttons. Then as Dancing Hoskuld said ...

They go into the art/interface/techtree folder. If they have the same name as the current (old) one, ie the religion name, then there is no more work. If not they should be renamed or the religion infos XML changed.

Oh what the heck I'll do it.

I think you mixed them up ls612.

On a side note I think I forgot to do the Kemetism one. I will go do that.

You are right we need two icons explicitly now for each religion whereas before we could have one for the tech and another for the non founded religion on the tech. This probably means that we should change the name on the religion infos files and call all the new unfounded oned found_religion name like Hydro provided.

Yeah basically if a religion is already founded then it uses the icon/button used for the religion. If it has not been founded yet it uses the icon/buttons I provided with the :religion: in the lower right corner.

This is so you know if you can still be the first one to try to get that tech. Note that since I had to do screenshots to get the graphics all the not founded yet icon/buttons have a blue background, while the default religious icons generally have a transparent background (and no :religion: of course).

We have had a request that Sedentary Lifestyle be the last in the prehistoric era rather than in the ancient era. I think this is a good idea mostly because people starting the game in ancient would then start with settlers and get a more "normal" BtS game.

Well the problem is Sedentary Lifestyle was made so you chnage eras once you discover it. If you changed it to be Prehistoric then you would chnage into the Ancient era at Sacrifice Cult, Caste System, Folk Music, Folk Dance, Archery, Agriculture or even Ideograms. Which seem less epic to change to.

In short I would like to keep it that ways so all your efforts to get out of the Prehistoric Era builds up to that one tech and the change of the era.

On the left is a region not founded yet, on the right is one founded already.

Here is what I mean.

I dont like the background color and its missing the hands in the corner, maybe the background could be a mystic blue or something like that??

Which one? The one on the right is the transparent one already in the game. The one of the left is the new one with the hands. I can;t chnage the background on one of the left since its a screenshot of the transparent one on a blue background.

See this is what it should look like normally.

One on the left is fine, i was talking about the one on the right, as i mentioned, "the one with missing hands.":hmm:
