I've just started playing this game, and it's indeed fun. One questions: the engineer can't recieve any achievements? I try to view the player manual (through Steam), but I'm always directed to a small sentry-manual.

The achievement for the Engineer is mainly a general achievement

Sentry Gunner
Accumulate 10 Sentry gun kills with a single turret.

Depends on the map but a couple of engineers can be good at stopping the movement of the cart as an uber might only be able to take out one of the sentries and of course the defending team might have their own uber to push back the attackers and allow the sentries to be rebuilt/repaired. Plus teleports can be useful on the defence when the first point is defendable.

It does totally depend on the map though, since logical chokepoints usually have some defect that opens them up to rocket/grenade sniping, and a smart couple of spies can sap that stuff. TF2 is all about teamwork and creativity.

And exploiting weaknesses, if everyone was donig their job perfectly nobody would be doing their job perfectly as they would simply be killing each other without any major gains.

Kind of like the battle of the Somme, except with less fail.

To go back to the medic discussion I was in fourth place in the standings until the final round whilst another player topped the rankings as a medic. He left in the last minute and we nearly lost right at the end. Before they left our scores were pretty much level with me being in front for a while. I don't think either of us had the top score for an individual round.

(Slightly over 11 points per death)

I notice too that when I play medic, I rocket up to the top of the scoreboards. Though I don't stick to one guy. I healz and overheal everyone I can get to.

Not sure why you cant find me on Steam. Promise I am there.

Been playing mostly on the -Q- clan servers out of Seattle. I have a very low ping to them.

Been learning the newer maps and different modes of play. I kind of like the idea of the 'push' maps like Goldrush. Not sure if I like KotH maps yet or not....seems like most of those are pwnage one way or another and not close at all.

One question I had of the players here is 'do you use scripts'?

Because I currently dont, but I could see where being able to do x, y, and z in order quickly would be of a huge benefit with a macro. For example, the spy being able to sap a sentry gun and then immedialy switch to a weapon to kill the engie.

So do you use scripts at all? And if so, your advice in regards to them?
