Thailand refuses to send Hmong refugees to communist Laos

Meanwhile, Australia sends refugees back to the Taliban to be killed, maroons them on an island and/or trades them with Malaysia.

I feel ashamed of this country sometimes.

You mean people who jump the queue, meaning that those who had put themselves through official means. I know people who have come to Australia as refugees that had to go through the proper channels before they got to Australia. The problem with the boat people is that they arrive illegally and undocumented. Their is a big difference between the two situations. Australia does allow refugees to come in, but the issue gets cloud by those on the left that don't realise we let in legitimate refugees and not queue jumpers. I also know immigrants who had to jump hoops to get here also don't like the fact that you can just waltz into the country and claim asylum. There are official means to do that and Australia does allow it's fair share of legal asylum seekres to come into the country.

What queue. If there is indeed a queue for people who are fleeing for their lives and seeking refuge, well, there shouldn't be.

Yeah, boat people have it so easy... leaving their family to flee their homelands in a rickety boat to be put in prison and kept in limbo losing years of their lives before being sent back to be shot by people who you fled from in the first place.

I happen to be one of those people who had to go through this country's ridiculous immigration process and I think the current policy towards boat people is an absolute disgrace.

Wow I know this thread is 4 years old but I am Hmong and appreciate that people actually recognizes us Hmong and what we did for the Americans. I live in St. Paul and I am currently making a Hmong civilization mod hehee.

What's up with this? This is the second guy to bump an old thread in his first post in the last 24 hours.
