Baron Duin i think
sheelba? her LH always looked too human to me
All wrong so far. I guess this could have been a trivia question. And yes its already been revealed.
Could it be Mardero?
Or some of his relatives?
Yeap, its Mardero. Son of a demon and a human mother.
Oh yea, Mardero is half demon, his father is Hastur I think and his mother is Lita the witch.
Unless Kael is referring to a less unholy union.
If not Hastur himself, one of his cheif minions.
Abit closer to the original topic,
What if the Aifon were destroyed by a nightmare?
Seeing as how their patron god is an effective dreamer, who later spawned an effective dreamer in his likeness, who through coincidence or calling, created the Octopus Overlords, who reside where the Aifon civilization did, it seems possible.
Presumably (in my theory crafting), wouldn't it be a rather unpleasant thing to a god for their chosen race to be destroyed? Well, what if Danalin accidentally dreamed them out of existance? (not on purpose of course)
This is where I'll seperate the first half of my theory from the crazier second half.
I'll even crank up the theory crafting dial to 11 and postulate the Octopus Overlords are actually the entirety of the Aifon people's souls trapped on the mortal plane and channeling themselves through Hemah's dreams, as he is their closest conduit.
Edit: Of course, that still leaves the question of what created the forbearing sense of doom that lead to Danalin having his nightmare, but lets just say a wizard did it.
Second edit: Theory obviously debunked by next post. Kept for posterity.
danalin didnt start dreaming until AFTER they were already destroyed so he couldnt have dreamed them out of existance.
Actually it says right in the FFH2 history that Hastur is whispering to Danalin, causing his nightmares.
This was quite some time after the Aifon dissapeared, so we don't know what was going on in Danalin's self-induced stasis sleep between the Aifon's dissapearance and Hastur messing with his dreams.
Hmm, did the victim have any Enemies? Any one that would want to harm him/she/it/them/non-gender specific commonality?
right here (though i renamed her Talya, as i like that name more than Jael)
Couldn't you use selective breeding to bring back a more 'pure' strain of Aifons? Seems like a pretty good start for a Civilization, lead by someone of unusually strong heritage. Inbreeding during the Age of Ice also could have preserved some of the blood as well.
...or you could end up with what the Grail were stuck with in Preacher.
