The Ancient Mediterranean MOD (TAM)

This error is unrelated to the MOD, it sometimes happens in normal CIV too. It must be related to either some "wrong move" that the AI makes or to some memory problem. I managed to go by this error by loading the last autosave and then doing everything totally differently. The computer will calculate different moves and maybe the error won't occur again.

I will try that as I kept doing basically the same moves after I restarted. It was almost 12 Am and I had work the next morning at 7:30 so I did not experiment further.

Glad to hear that your doing a conquests update. My only suggestion is to make the game more balanced. I download your original mod and updated to PTW and added the Pheonecians as a major power. My major powers were then Rome, Greece, Persia, Pheonicia, Egypt and Carthage. Minor powers, Thacia, Scythia (Scythians, Huns, Mongols), Germanic Tribes (Goths, Visagoths, Vandals), Brittons, Galacia (Francs and Iberians). I played this repeatedly and won as all major powers each with it's own best strategy.

Thamis, lad, how are things fairing?

Any news on the C3C version? I am really looking forward on playing this exciting Mod with the C3C new civs, buildings, units & abilities (especially the enslavement thingie opens up a whole new dimension to this Mod!).

Please, keep us updated.

Yes, there is a C3C test version out there.

You can get it here:
http://www.cdgroup.org/forums/tbs/civ3/index.php?h=1&pf=21

First, though, you need to sign up on CDG and join the testers group.

The public version should be released in a week or two.

Thanks a load! Yes, I will sign up. I came back to CIVing recently (foud some time to play) and I really want to try this gem.

I will sign up and get it ASAP!

If you wish I can even send any suggestions and/or bugs I stumble upon.

edited to add: Seems I am too silly to find out how to join the testers... I did sign up (under the same nick) but I can't find anything... Oh, I should go an look more carefully.

I was enjoying a nice game as Rome when I experienced an error that shuts the game down. It is listed as follows:

Load Error: File not found

"Art\Units|RepublicanLegionary\..\Legionary\LegionaryAttackAsound.Wav"

Any idea how to fix this? Never had any error with any of the other units...

No. I thought that was for an installation problems, not unit errors. I will download. Do I have to download the other fixes, as I downloaded 2.1 but that is it.

But yes, you can play the normal CIV3 version and you game will not be affected (if you do install it correctly - read the instructions carefully). The PTW version is, of course, not affecting anything.

i kinda meant it the other way around, because i cant get the ptw mod 2 recognize my conquests cd as having ptw on it. if u kno how 2 fix that, then id just install it there. but as it is, i was thinking of installing the mod 2 regular civ3, and retaining ptw.
will it work?

Well, if you have PTW or even conquests, then don't bother installing the CIV3 version. It's far worse.

I have problems with C3C-PTW recognizing my C3C CD, so I just use my PTW CD instead. If you can't get it to work, you're welcome to join the C3C testing crew and you can download a C3C version straight away. To do so, just send me a PM on cdgroup.org.

Thamis, downloaded the fix 7 but still having problems. It maybe that I installed the fix incorrectly as I had problems in the beginning which you of course know.

Since it takes me 5+ hours to get to the Republican Legionnaire I was wondering if you could give me detailed info on which file was having the error and how it should look fixed. That way I could go into the file and see that I installed the fix correctly. I thought based on the error that it had to do with sound so I opened both the 2.1 Mod Repub Legionnaire file and the fix. I do not see any difference there to my untrained eye. Perhaps I am looking at the wrong file. I am doing this on my work computer where I download the files.

It also could be in the way I installed the fix as I just selected all the files and dragged it to the Mod file and let it extract itself. Perhaps I should have taken each file individually from the fix and dragged them to its respective file in the mod. Let me know what your thought are. Thanks!

This is how the "TAM 2.1\ART\UNITS\REPUBLICAN LEGIONARY\REPUBLICAN LEGIONARY.INI" file has to look like:

Thanks! I will look at it tonight. You probably shudder every time you see me post!

Do I have to start over saved games? Curious as I had a really good one going...
