The Ancient Mediterranean MOD (TAM)

Thamis, I've seen the super cool map. Is there any room for the Picts/Caledonii or even the Scotii? The Picts aren't Britons in case you don't know. I think I counted 29 civs, that would mean 2 more possible civs. I can get city and leader list (Calgacus) and pictures. There is now an appropriate UU BTW.

Sure, we can include more if you provide me with the details. I'm not sure where the picts and caledonii are from, though...

You could only really have one of these. I'll let you chose.

#PICTS:

Location: Northern Britain/modern Scotland

UU: The Picts were straightforward pitched battle warriors, who were said to cover their bodies with tatoos. A Pictish warrior has been "made" already for the Yoda Power's Medieval Mod, but it is just a warrior with extra powers.

Here is a modern(ish) painting of a Pictish warrior:

actually, it was a request from gael, i just used it.

I'm playing the mod and think it's incredible, but I have a doubt:
Why can't I enter mountains???

So it does mean that I cannot mine, road mountains???
IMHO I don't think that's game-balancing...
I have a resource on a mountain and I cannot have it... very good, ha?

No. Workers can enter mountains of course. also, once you have a road onto the mountain, you can cross it with heavy units.

The original idea was to prevent settlers from crossing natural barriers like the Alps or the Caucasus. In ancient times this was the rule - nobody crossed mountain ranges.

The following units CAN cross mountains:
- Worker
- Scout
- Explorer
- Archer
- Longbowman
- Leader
- Bowman
- Fire Longbowman
- Raider
- Elite Bowman
- Swordman (Barbarian)
- Peltast
- Berserk
- Gallic Swordsman
- Princess
- King Units
- Mesopotamian Bowman
- Dacian Greatswordsman

Another idea... this is a biggie!

In CIV3 it's possible to give techs to one and only one civilization, they cannot be traded or researched. What I'm suggesting now is that each CIV gets one technology at the start, which gives them one advantage. And I'm saying unique here - no double advantages (not like in CIV traits or UUs)! These techs would be there from the beginning on, but some of the advantages could rely on resources or buildings from later techs to enforce a late advantage.

Some ideas:

Babylon:
Ziggurat - cheap building that gives +1 culture

Phoenicia:
Phoenician Trader - cheap ship 2 transport, better than coracle

Rome:
Forum - cheap courthouse

Assyria:
Gilgamesh Epic - Won that doubles science in city

Minoans:
Quay - small harbor that allows coastal trade and gives +1 trade in sea squares

Germanic Tribes:
Call to Arms - can draft from the beginning on (too powerful?)

Goths:
Gothic Settler - cheaper settler (too powerful?)

Etruria:
Etruscan Pottery - cheaper Granary

Egypt:
Sphinx - Won, 2 non-era techs

Lydia:
Mausoleum of Halikarnassos - Won, 3(?) happy in city

Sheba:
Aqueduct of Marib - Won, free Aqueduct in each city (they really need it!)

Greece:
? maybe a cheaper library...

Persia:
?

Gallia:
?

Scythians:
?

Carthage:
? something with ships or the sea...

Berber:
?

Medes:
?

Israel:
? something biblical...

Hittites:
?

Kolchis:
?

Huns:
?

Dacians:
?

Iberians:
?

Brittons:
? something with druids...

Yea, but now the War Elephant will be a normal unit and Carthage will get the Elite Light Cavalry.

Well what about some sort of trade wonder then?
