The Ancient Mediterranean MOD

The exe seems alright but the game still exits after a few turns. Around 2800BC in normal and 2900BC in quick game. By this time the Aesir and Mesopotamian religion is founded.

Hehe. I think there is more work than I can handle with this mod. With another one I wouldn't have time to sleep any more.

(This is really, really a very minor aspect)

As I looked through the artwork-files i found the pictures that announce a new era.
If i find appropriate material, I'd like to redesign them to our eras.
Atm they are

> Ancient --> Bronze --> Classical --> Imperial

According to the historical three-age system it should be:

> Stone --> Bronze --> Iron --> Classical

That would fit our techtree quite well.
If it is okay with you, i will desgin screens for s-b-i-c.

Tam the Error, crash make the unit Ionian Hoplite (Krisos). put whit Worldbuilder a Ionian Hoplite unit and the game crash automatic to deskop.

That may be, but it doesn't explain a crash about the time when the 4th technologie is developed. The ionian hoplite should be miles away from that.
Probably some other UU built?

I was about to do the same thing, but I guess it's no longer necessary. Well, since we all have the same problem I think we can assume it's a bug and not a configuration issue. By the way, there is also a minor problem during the extraction: if you extract it to the main Civ 4 folder it places the public map in its place but not the mod itself, which needs to be moved manually to the Mods directory. It's a very minor thing, but I thought it would be worth to note.

Thamis, great job. I am going to download the Civ3 version as well.

I translated all the mod to spanish in V.1.2, but in V.1.3 not are the updated files text that I put in V.1.2.

PD: I translate all, when the mod have a "final version", it's stupid to rename all twice or three.
PD: En definitiva, que lo tendrás traducido cuando haya una versión estable, porqeu sino es un coñazo.

And btw: making the other germanic UU a spearman - a ger-man - would really be a good idea.

If only he wouldn't be fighting with a paddle... But there's nothing we can do about that. The Jaguar Warrior reskin is an excellent idea!
 
Laurino I have just two words for you: backup copy.

I would have thought that backup copies were common knowledge. But, we all make mistakes.

If my additions caused the game to crash, I don't know why that would be ... it all worked fine when I tested it. The problem with having multiple modders is that if one has a slightly different version than the other, and try mix up the files, then it will be incompatible.

There is no XML code that will "erase translations," the only possibility could be if translations were done in a file that was then overwritten by another. Such a possibility could be fixed by backing up files.

If you gave me the faulty file and explained the error I could probably tell you what was wrong and fix it. Either way, I will do this to prevent any such thing from happening in the future:

I will put all code into a text file, with the name of the XML file that it should be added to. That way, I'm not providing any XML files that overwrite existing ones, possibly causing incompatible versions that cause the game to crash.

Also, as others have mentioned, there were some errors not even related to me or the Illyria civ that could cause some problems, such as having 2 Holy Sites. That needs to be fixed.
 
From experience multiple contributors can be tough, but it sure beats doing everything yourself!
 
Yea woodelf, tell me about it. I wanted to help Laurino by releiving him of some of the burden, but it seems that incompatible versions got in the way. I'll just put the changes in a text file and have him do it himself.

the 2 holy sites bug is there from the beginning, not a v1.3 problem.
