By suckiest I meant that I've never played any worse game series. There maybe worse game series but I haven't fortunately ever played them.
And I have actually played FF I, FFVII and VIII because my friends have tried to convert me to heresy called Final Fantasy

the best ones are the regular, Final Fantasy I, II, III, etc. and Tactics.

I have Final Fantasy 6-10 (playing 10 at the moment) and of those Final Fantasy VII is definetly my fave, in fact it is my joint fave game (with Civ of course! ) of all time.

Final Fantasy VIII and IX are really good as well, not so keen on X but i'm playing it anyway, and VI I still have not completed after 3 years because i'm too lazy to spend the required hours building all my character HP experiance up.

It's annoying that people lump together Tactics and Tactics Advance, because they're nowhere near each other in caliber. FFT is still my favorite game(yes, it even consumes more time than Civ) and the storyline is the most backstabbiest I've ever encountered. If you don't like games where a lot of characters get axed(literally, in some cases) then it's probably not for you.

But I've become obsessed with it to the point where I now own seven copies, some still sealed, and I'm compiling a list of differences between the 'original' and 'Greatest Hits' editions - there's a few bugs in the white label version that were fixed in the GH version, and a few other things were changed.

have you tried this challenge, where you play an entire game with 1 class. Like, all your party has to be squires or monks, etc. I heard about it over at the gamefaqs boards.

Of course, Im nowhere near good enough to do it. Sure Ive beaten the game, but Im human afterall

There is the limit of 20 options for a poll, you try putting 30+ games on a poll that only allows for 20.

7 Must be top though, with 9 and 6 coming up close, and 8 just behind them.

Final Fantasy USA and Mystic Quest are the same game. Final Fantasy USA is the release title for Europe and Japan. It was released as Mystic Quest only in North America.

FFIV was the first RPG I ever played. I beat it a few years later and it was one of the toughest end bosses I ever faced. 3 of my guys were dead, another redlined, the fifth had a good amount of health.
FFVI brought me into another world with it's music and story. One of the most amazing experiences in videogames musically and storywise. To someone who is first trying to play it, I doubt it could be as good though because kids these days are used to the great graphics. Back then seeing the mechanical animations in Narshe was beautiful.
FFVII has the best overall appeal. If you haven't played it, play it. Rumored to be remade for PS3, which would be cool.

FFIX is a classic return to FF roots. Dragoons and the like. It was fun to have character classes matter again.

I hate to admit this but over the last 15 or so years I have played (and beat) every single final fantasy game up FFX.

All were good with the exception of FFVIII (I actually fell asleep playing it at times) and FFX (which was ok but as you say, too laid back and almost like watching a movie)

My favourites were FFVI, FFVII and FFIX. Tactics was also good.

Final Fantasy VII was the best of them all, and yes Square did make a technical demo for PS3 of the Final Fantasy VII's opening video. But it's highly unlikely that they would make a new version of it.

Yeah I know that it's a rumor, but there's good reason for it to be true.

1. All they have to do is re-render the polygonal models (characters, enemies, etc.), bump the background textures to high-res, and redo the videos (hardest part, but Square is good at this.

2. It would make a boatload of money.
