The Capo's LH Gallery and Self-Help Thread!

Alright, well these are three backgrounds I whipped up for the Pharaoh. Unfortunately I made all of these images originally at 512 x 512 and that isn't want Gilgamesh's background calls for (unless there is a way to change that somehow). But they still look pretty decent, although their full glory isn't justified in these screens. I am partial to one of them in particular but I'll post them up and see what you guys think I should use for the finished product.

The furthest right-hand background with the hieroglyphs is my favorite.

Yeah I figured out what I had to do about the art. Here is what he looks like so far, this is without changing the gloss or anything yet (obviously), and I've circled the two problem areas, namely the bottom of his beard and his collar/neck area, which I need to fix as well.

But so far this is a good idea as to how he will look. I am going to take some larger in game screens with three different backgrounds too.

the beard and collar issue can be fixed in edit mode. this is whee you you have to click on one or a few dots and slide them into the place you want - using different angles. the collar being a case where you'll stretch it out and down a bit.

Hello Capo, This one is very good and I'll vote for the third bg as well but I think he is currently too yellow. It must a "too hard gloss" that is causing this issue.

a tip for you :
nifskope render menu > there you can deselect draw nodes for a cleaner view

I like the third background as well. I'm glad you've recognized the specularity problem.

The skin colour looks a little on the green-bronze tone to me, but that doesn't bother me too much. Different lighting conditions (especially indoors) can produce different tonal effects on real skin, so I would just assume he's in a room with lots of firelight and green draperies. The shininess would be more of a bother for me, as he would look too plastic.

And nice work, once again.:)

There is something wrong with the skin-tone though... it looks unnatural... it's not awful, but his skin looks nothing like the other leaders... could probably use a little less bronze shine.

P.S.
I know it's a Pharaoh but is it modeled after a specific person, or is it generic?

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but CLEARLY I already know that he is not glossed/reskinned. But I'm glad you care. :goodjob:

Okay, I fixed the collar issue, and the beard thing (with the "floating tip") and I got rid of the glosiness. Now I have to reskin him so his skin matches. Which I suck at... I am going to call this version 1 when I'm finished because there are a few things I'd like to fix (the shoulder issue) but he gave me so much trouble I'd rather get him out there and worry about it later. I have also officially decided to go with the third background, which was my favorite too. Thoughts, ideas, comments?

Alright, I have finished my Egyptian Pharaoh, finally!

I called it version 1 because I think I'm going to go back and tie up a few loose ends, but for now I'm happy he's finished and he's ready to go everyone. So if you need a Pharaoh download him!

Thank you very much!

I really appreciate the compliments, especially since I'm new to this. I guess Ekmek is working on Santa Anna, so any ideas for a next one guys? I was thinking of doing Cardinal Richeliu, but I already have two LHs from that era. So any other ideas?

BTW: JustATourist - I haven't learned how to "rescalp" heads yet, but when I do that I'll throw together a Patrick Stewart

How about a Shapur II of Persia. I think that you could do it with the following:

- Body from Col Agueybana (use bearded version from MethylOrange's Poseidon)
- Remove Necklace
- Add Gandhi's Robe
- Add modified Hammurabi hat from Ekmek's David
- Color hat white to match robe
- Recolor skin to a lighter Persian shade

I guess Ekmek is working on Santa Anna, so any ideas for a next one guys?
Is that confirmed? Is Ekmek doing Santa Anna, or is it still floating on a backburner?

What about Solomon, based on MethylOrange's Poseidon?

Looks great. You have made rapid progress. :goodjob:

Yes, it's the Caribbean native leader. I'm guessing that you have Colonization because you used Vanderdonck and the Spanish King. If you don't have it though, you can get the leaderheads through the ThomasWar mod. This one though, can be found with the feathers and body paint already removed, as well as the beard added, under MethylOrange's leaderhead gallery - Poseidon.

Well I can do Solomon like that, sure why not? But right now I'm doing Cardinal Richelieu for France. I don't know why, I like the Thirty Years' War era, which explains why I have Charles V and Gustav Adolph, might as well have Cardinal Richelieu as well. I also noticed there aren't really any good Cardinal Richelieus out there and I feel he'd make a good leader for France. Here's a little preview on my work so far on the good cardinal.... what do you guys think?
