The Capo's LH Gallery and Self-Help Thread!

I like it.

Here is a little insight into what I am working on for the Assyrian leaderhead. This is just a model in Blender, and I just threw it together (nothing is attached yet or anything like that). It uses Stalin as a base actually, but this is what I have so far. It has Hammurabi's beard (and mustache), cyrus' hair, the arawak lh body from Colonization, Hyauna Capac's robe, and the crown I made. Any suggestions/comments?

Perfect.
Planned on how to color it yet?
Most of the art I've seen of him has been blue and gold.

Hey everyone, I put some texture on Sennecharib (obviously this will not be anywhere near his final texture). I just figured this would give a good indication as to what he might look like. Any ideas on texturing him and what colorscheme to use? (I'll try and have a better example tomorrow).

I'd personally go for gold on the little emblem things attached to the outer-robe, deep blue for the outer-robe, then a sort of sandy yellow for the inner robe. Also for skintone, I'd put him on par with Darius.

Looks good. I appreciate the unorthodoxy of Stalin as a base, and the use of the Incan robes. The hat is an amazing piece of hybridization. My only complaint is the painted-on nature of the shirt. If you're going to make his arms a bare, muscular model, I really think that you're better off leaving them flesh-colored. If you want him wearing sleeves, please find a way to give him actual sleeves. To do otherwise, ends up slightly cheapening the final appearance of an otherwise stellar leaderhead.

Of course, depending on the animations chosen, the flesh/robe situation might not even be noticeable. It's just a caution.

LOL, yeah that isn't going to be his skin color. The arms are not recolored that is just the skin from the Arawak LH whose body I used. I didn't texture ANYTHING, I just took the texture from the original models I used and threw them together. I suppose I'll do a colored version so you see what it will look like in the final version.

Right now I'm so backed up on LH requests and LHs I have to make for modules that I don't have any time to make leaders that *I* want to make. So I'll probably try to avoid making LHs I don't feel like making. But again, we'll see and I'm pretty busy with LHs right now as it is.

 I wonder what that feels like. Thats the curse of LH making

THe assyrian guy is looking great. maybe go with some gold or green for his clothing colors, not too many using those schemes.

Okay, well since a few of you weren't getting my model (I think), I did a retexture (that and adding gauntlets are the only changes I've made) so you can see the model for what it is. This is just a texture I threw on it real quickly, I don't think its that bad but I'd still appreciate some ideas or suggestions.

I used Ekmek's suggested color scheme in the meantime.

EDIT: I added some in-game screen shots using a bg I found. I don't know if I like the bg that much, but the LH looks pretty decent. I am going to add some bearded texture to his face so you can't see the clipping (its there becuase I had to pull this beard off of the Hammurabi model, and I don't mean detach the beard, I had to cut the jaw off and attach it to this so it wen't weird). Obviously I am going to give him new animations as well. Any ideas on that?

The LH looks good. Makes me want to add the Assyrians to the game! I agree about the background- it doesn't look good. About the animations- I can't find the list of the animation compatibility, so I don't know what to say. I think maybe Gilgamesh or Hammurabi. If you give me the link to the compatibility list I might give you a better suggestion.

Stalin's LH works with the animations of Alex, De Gaulle, Julius, Mehmed, Monty, and Napoleon.

Thanks! Well, we have too many "Juliuses" and "Alexanders". Montezuma, Napoleon and De Gaulle wont do, so it leaves us with Mehmed II!

I think Chavez uses those animations, though.

You sure Monty wouldn't work?

So far only two complaints:
1. His skintone and hair are too light.
2. He does look slightly odd with bare arms.

Aside from that, looking good.
For animations, my vote is going for Mehmed.

Oh, all right. I didn't know.

I rather like the bare arms, and the skin tone doesn't bother me. Darius was a bit too tan, in my opinion, for that part of the world. If you were making a Pakistani or Indian, perhaps, but this fellow is basically a Syrian or northern Iraqi.

rigging that part of the beard to the jaw doesnt prevent the clipping problem?

its already rigged to the jaw. But it still does that, it must be his cheek or something like that, either way I'd rather just change the texturing because I don't want to spend too much time working on these LHs. They are just for modules I'm working on anyway.

Other people's comments;

- He stays bare-armed

- I don't think his crown sits too high on his head. Any lower and I'd start covering up his eyes and he'd look even worse.

- Right now I'm leaning towards Montezuma's animations

- as far as skin tone, if anything I'd make his skin tone lighter rather than darker. But there are no plans to change the skin tone.

The background and texturing can be changed though.
