The Capo's LH Gallery and Self-Help Thread!

Hey guys. I just wanted to post this in case anyone wanted to retexture her body/torso for me since I will probably screw it up. You can take a look at it and edit where necessary. But basically her arms and the bottom-half of her torso need texturing. And if you want to can retexture the face so it looks less like Hatshepsut, because I don't think I am going to stick with Gandhi's animatinos because they make her mouth look strange.

EDIT: I fixed the head-dress issue, it was pretty simple. I'm not sure why I couldn't figure it out last night. But if anyone wants to texture this for me that'd be awesome.

:D
...but why not a bit more...?

Yes, okay, i'm a freak :D.

LOL, actually when I was looking up Polynesian princesses and queens and stuff the majority of them had no top on at all. But I figured that would be inappropriate for CFC. Maybe I can make two versions.

Again, that's a texturing issue too and I am not the best at texturing. I am going to attempt to texture her body myself, but I am PROBABLY going to screw it up somehow. Anyway here is an in-game screenshot, on the left I marked the spots that I think need to be textured.

See the sunlight/glare on the coconuts. My plan is to add that to the whole LH so it looks like its right at sunset/sunrise or whatever.

Couldn't Ekmek or bernie do the texturing?

I just tried to do the texturing and I definitely screwed it up. And Bernie and Ekmek are not at my beck and call. But I could try again. If anyone is remotely good at doing graphic art or anything like that all we really need here is some definition on the arms and bottom of the torso. Just so it looks like a person's skin.

Aside from those texturing things you've already identified, this is looking really nice, definitely no longer a Hatshepsut clone. I do wonder about those pink feathers sticking up in front (what would it look like without them and only the blue fan in back?), but that's really a very minor thought. I can't wait to see this and your final Kamehameha.

The most I could suggest is using Photoshop's clone stamp to spread out the skin texture that is on the neck and breasts.

if you play with a light and dark brush you might get somewhere. too bad pencilgod or mourndraken arent around

Tell me about it. I am actually a good artist when it comes to drawing and painting, but for whatever reason that doesn't translate to graphic art. Probably the same reason my LH abilities don't seem to translate too well into unit-making. Well for now the model looks good (there is no clipping or anything like that going on) so I am going to leave it as-is until I can finish Kamehameha and then figure something out. Sorry guys, no coconut bras just yet.

I am back on my Kamehmeha LH and I took Ekmek's advice and used the Nonshader version of Lincoln to get the shirt and tie, unfortunately for some reason no texturing shows up. Its weird as hell. The file is there, it says its texture is Lincoln_NONSHADER and no matter what i do nothing shows up. Its just white. Do you have any idea why this is happening?

post nif and blend

maybe you should get a color scanner lol. print the texture file. color it scan it and then touch up in paint. hey its worth a shot!

someone else is starting on making leaderheads. i'd appreciate it if u could help when possible. Also if you are looking for a chance to upgrade to the latest blend (it can read old blen files) here are he links and i guess follow along. there have been some changes but the new blender is better.

Its really weird man. The strangest part is that it actually worked perfectly fine the first time I looked at it, then when I retextured it (changed the tie to yellow/gold) it didn't show up anymore. Its very odd to me. Anyway here are the files. I didn't delete any extra files yet so its pretty sloppy, the FirstDraughtNif files are the blend and nif though.

I'll upgrade after I'm finished with these Polynesians. When I do upgrade my other WIPs will still be compatible right?

Ekmek; were you going to take a look at Kamehameha for me?

The lighting and coloring stuff didn't do anything. I wonder why this is happening.

I think its actually a problem with the lincoln dds file. Not sure how firaxis gets thegame to fix but try openinig it in gimp and saving it as a tga then map the texture property to the tga instead of t he dds.

Yeah I'll do that. You saw what I was talking about though right? I don't get how simply changing the color of the tie would have that effect. I'll try your idea though.

Kamehameha looks pretty good. I wanted to make his nose less European though (its hard to tell in the image because MO's texture for the nose is actually bigger than the nose on the model so that's why it kind of looks strange) I am probably also going to make him look a bit older and give him bushier eyebrows. And for some reason on the sleeves there are two black spots that I have to texture out. But other than that it looks pretty good to me. The only problem I really have is that I can't seem to locate the Camera in NifSkope. Does anyone know if they used a different name for it in the Colonization LHs (this one is based on the English King).

Once I finish this up and somehow manage to get Salmasina (or whatever) textured properly I will release them both. Suggestions are still welcome (and volunteers for skinning) as always.
