"The Core" Ads

I don't have XP but I don't think the browsers are that different. Within IE, you go to the main menu, click on tools, then Internet options. Then click on the Security tab. It has options for Internet, Intranet, Trusted Sites and Restricted Sites. click the restricted sites option and there is a Sites button. Click this and add Mediamgr.ugo.com. Then there is a section for "Security settings for this area" or something like that. The default level is "high" which wasn't quite enough for me. I had to hit the Custom Level button and scroll down to make sure Disable Java is selected.

That's what worked for me, but that's on Win2000 and Win 98 machines, not XP.

I used to have Win 98 and I know the procedure you're talking about. Unfortunately, XP doesn't work that way. I guess I'll have to get XP for Dummies or some such book. Microsoft's help menu was no help at all (why am I not surprised?).

Thanks anyway.

I've got XP and it worked exactly as described. I'll try to attach a S/S if that will help.

I added the ad banner codes back to the forum (to the main style anyway). Hopefully the Core audio ad is gone for good...

It seems that way for now. Thanks TF. :)

WOO! Now with my encredible large amounts of hair, I can go back to Bosley, to cure my, um, male-lack-of-pattern-baldness.

3rd at 12.4 million? Well the "Hunted" came in third too! :hmm: What a coincidence. "Hunted" was the first in audio film banners...annoyed us but "The Core" was much worse.

Unfortunately, my toolbar doesn't look like that. I can't get an image, but the choices are:
Home E-mail Favorites Online Contacts People&Chat Money Shopping Music Games

Trust me, I tried to find how to restrict a site. I spent 20 minutes looking and 10 minutes digging through the Help Menu and couldn't find it.

Thanks anyway.

That isn't IE, that's MSN explorer - microsoft's AOL-like front end to internet explorer

You need to click on the little blue e in the taskbar, or start internet explorer from the start menu.
That's the only way to get to the IE options, they are hidden in MSN explorer

don't use the red things - the butterfly is MSN explorer. Use one of the green ones, it should be somewhere in your start menu.
