You've got a very good point there - "Dogma" did the "Jesus has a surviving bloodline" bit, managed to zorch off the Catholics equally well, and didn't have any powerfully bad haircuts to boot.
I don't mind Dogma because it doesn't say my entire religious authority is based on keeping lies going, only that it is slightly misguided. There is a difference. I wonder what people would think if I wrote a book and a movie claiming that Atheism is just a way for people to get power by telling lies and getting stupid people to believe them.

A mediocre read...it does feel like Brown just sort of forced all the anti-Christian fiction onto the storyline.

Apology accepted, but please pay attention to spelling - it's "pseudo", with the 'e' and the 'u' in that order. :)

Yeah, but he's using "pseudo-spelling." Stir in some "pseudo-punctuation" and you've got something.

I read the book but didn't like it because it just seemed so far fetched that I couldn't suspend disbelief and get into it. I think I'll pass on the movie.

It was terrible. It offended me with its general stupidity. :p

Not much. Atheists don't have organizations to raise hell over anything the way that the RCC has done over the DVC.

I dislike it only in so much as it's not as good as "Angels and Demons". I don't see why it's become such a world wide success but then so did the Spice Girls :)

***DISCLAIMER***
The poster knows that "Angels and Demons" is also fiction.

I'm of christian background, but I'm agnostic.
I find the book nice to read (nice plot, well written for this kind of novel).
So I think I like it.
However, I dislike some of the blatant mistakes made by Brown (it could have been much more "disturbing" if he avoided these misatkes). I also dislike the way he presents some facts as true when they are not. And I dislike this marketing method.

I enjoyed it - a fun read :)
And I'm christian (protestant to be exact). Or do you even consider protestants proper christians (we think that pope is just a bad office given to some weirdo... nothing holy there)

Rather general options. I haven't read the book, but I dislike its unfounded historical claims.
That is my thoughts exactly. At least he could have done some research about what he was talking about so that it would be historically accurate.
